The new stadium would be built on the current place of "Dan Paltisanu" stadium. In the same area a new multipurpose hall will be built with approximative 10,000 seats.

The architects proposed 3 variations of the project.

First and the most expensive (~100 mil euro), involves joining the 2 constructions. "The 2 functions are "wrapped" into a common space of connections which hosts public places, entries, commercial and services functions. In this case, the above would occupy the maximum size. In the underground are built the technical spaces and the parking lot – which in turn reaches the maximum size. The extension of connection space allows 2 types of exterior public places: covered plaza on ground level and pedestrian platforms on the first level (over the connection space)", it shows in the project approved by the County Council.

The second version targets the overlap of the hall and the stadium, the costs reaching, in this case at 86 mil euro. „The advantages of this „overlapping” consists in the reduced employment land, good quality landscaping, the dominant figure which visually organize all the development area, the visibility from long distance”, reads the same project.

The last version and the cheapest one, consists in the intersection of the constructions, the cost been smaller than 50 mil euro. „This is an „optimum” solution; the north and the south batter are conserved, compacted and remodeled by reusing the land resulted from the excavations of the east and west zones”, explained in the project.

I like the ambition, but I simply don't like how those stands look.
Way too oval in pretty much all 3 projects. Though no useless athletics track, I still think they should re-think the project a bit, for that money they could do better.
I also think that there is no reason to hurry up now, maybe in a few years they could make a better plan and even a bigger stadium ( ~40k ) as the team and city are worth one.

I don't think we should get used to these renderings. They seem completely preliminary, which they are, aren't they?

The real question is:
Is it real or just a promise?
There were plans for a 30k stadium in Bacau and nothing ever since.
