I'm going to Miami next weekend and I'm trying to find a hotel to stay in with the best view. Assuming that the cost of the room doesn't matter, what is the best view from a hotel room in Miami? I checked at the 4 Seasons but their rooms only go up to the 29th floor, are there any higher/better rooms in the city?

Any suggestions are very appreciated. Thanks
Justin

The best moderately priced hotels in Downtown Miami are the Inter-Continental, The Conrad, The J.W. Marriott, The Fortune House, The Four Ambassadors, The Doubletree Biscayne Bay, The Mariott Biscayne Bay, The Raddison Miami, and the Sheraton Biscayne Bay. If you are more into expensive tastes, the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, or the Ritz-Carlton in Coconut Grove are the best. If your into the views, the tallest hotel in the city is the Four Seasons with views over 150 meters high.

hmm prolly the 4 seasons still for height, its nice,

but if you like, check the part III photo thread i did, thats from the 25th floor sky lobby of conrad hotel, but thats just the beginning of the hotel, if you see the pics i took, the hotel rooms are higher up, like 26 floor and up i believe to the 35th floor of the almost 500 foot tower, and 35 stories tall.

so you can prolly get a great view from this place, plus then you can chill at the lobby and theres telescopes and you can see the beaches and JADE, and 4 seasons, its all windows all around the lobby and theres a big balcony which i was at,

its really cool then theres a restaurant facing the city,
so this could be one,

the 4 seasons though you can get a good view from ur room but the lobby is only the 7th floor, so for views i say
CONRAD AT ESPIRITO SANTO PLAZA

For the best views...of the Miami/Brickell Skyline, you should choose the Mandarin Oriental and take some snaps from the beach there or from your room. Four Seasons is the tallest, but as you mentioned, it's tough to get on the higher floors to stay. Conrad is sort of boxed in...you have some spactacular views though. I'd imagine that the Inter-Continental have to be great.
The Sheraton Doubletree near the performing arts center are nice too.

I stayed at the Mandarin once (for a nice $450 a night) and I can assure you if you get a room facing brickell you will stand out on your balcony all day and night with your jaw on your feet taking in the views.

OK, I booked at the Mandarin this morning and specifically asked for a 'land facing room on a high floor' - hope I get lucky.

(and a bargain at $339)

You are going to love your stay! The services there are amazing and the view are too. Although you will be tempted to stay in the Hotel and balcony, it is really worth it to take alittle walk down Brickell and have drink at the Espirito Santo/Conrad. The Noir is a great place, and they have nice telescopes set up for viewing. Also, if you walk accross the street from the Conrad to 14th street and jump on the MetroMover, you will see many empty lots that represent all the tall buildings that will sprouting up or are under contruction now.

Hey, thanks for all the tips ... I will try to see Brickell better this time. I go to Miami a lot for work, but I never get to stay anywhere cool. Just some hotel in Broward usually... will post pics when I get back.
