I had a look two days ago - nothing much happening in the site (only digging equipment as in the photo above). However i saw today a Vakson advert selling apartments in the Emirates Crown ... perhaps they need some cash before they start?

The round balcony version seems to be the evolved version of the boxy version. the podium and crown looks so underdeveloped in the boxy version.

You're right Krazy, except there was NO-ONE working when I visited the site .... looks like people have been pulled off for some reson. Perhaps they're annoyed the Al Ameera is now going higher than them and are re-submitting designs.

Hehe if every developer would do this we have only 400 metres at this road hehe.
The same happened to ocean heights, so perhaps they will redesign it.

we could easily put in another let's say 8 floors in that roof, would make it a 3.1m ratio

the crown (from the golden rim to end of spire) is almost 1/6 of the towers full height, so it's an equivalent of 10 floors

220/73 is a floor to floor height of 3m
a floorplate for such a tower probably is 20 to 30cm thick
this makes a floor to floor height of 2.7m

now you better don't hang up any lights on the ceiling, especially no valuable chandeliers

Al Seef Tower has only 45F and is 215m tall.
64F and a spire in a 220m building ^^
The floors are not very tall.
The first tower in Dubai designed for small people. :D

that's why i think the height doesn't include the spire
so, 220m to roof or they have given us the wrong height

I like the base of the original design much, much better. The new base is very bland and unimaginitive.

eh? the "original" design is the one below , the current one (at least what we think) is the one above and it looks way better, exspecially the base!

I'd have to say the first tower is nicer. As mentioned, the base is better, although the second one has a nice top (not the crown cause it's the same).

According to Marina plot Map, Princess tower is to the right of Emirates Crown tower.

i would think it will, again, take longer, until interiors etc are finished.

maybe 2nd Q 2008.

this again shows the supertalls in the upper marina will at least take until 2010 to be done.

^^ I would probably say 2012 with all the delays. Even when they start excavation, we cant be sure that construction has actually started (23 Marina, Ocean Heights, Princess). Also, we know that there is are at least two more supertalls more than 100 floors that havent been announced yet. Imagine the amount of time everything will take... completion of all the supertalls... landscaping.. bridges... :eek:

he he he. 1 floor per week is normal for Dubai. :-) For European time-table this is lightning fast! Example: The house from accross the street where I live has been under construction all year. They are fixing the roof. In the same time it takes a bunch of Belgians to fix the roof, Dubai builts an entire sky scraper!

after it has taken more than a year for something to happen, the speed now is quite remarkable :)

Contractual obligations do tend to take a while to sink in, in Dubai. But better late than never.

^^ I think there is a mistake becouse Property Developer is EMAAR. They just screwed up. The height figure was quoted from 2005, and int will NOT be that "low" on top of the spire.
