Most are scheduled for 2004-2006, some will last until 2010. This is all what is known to us so far, there also might be high-rise projects which we just don't have a clue of ;)

Great news for Klaipeda and the whole Lithuania. :okay:
In Slovakia are the highrises announced in Banska Bystrica (Europa shopping centre), plans are for Žilina, Trnava and Lučenec (widening of the Business zone).
In Bratislava the new highrise is going to be finished in Ružinov district /will bring the photos/. Furthermore there are recently the discussions in Stare Mesto district about the construction of another highrise (34 floors), but there are still the petitions of district inhabittants against it, so it is up to mayor of this district to decide.
The panorama of this Bratislava part, including new highrise

Furthermore, another plans are announced, or started, one of them is Pribinova zone http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=127324&highlight=bratislava

No offense, but some of those projects are kinda ugly. I don't like the Gandraliskes Quarter project, especially the bases.
The rest of them are really nice. Good luck with that, it's great that there is a constuction boom in EE. :)

I really enjoyed the representation of the city, especially since I really like small scale models. And it shows how the skyline will impact the city, a little far away from each other but still visible IMO.

Long time since the last update.
So, some news about some highrises:
The "30fl." tower in Minijos st. will have only 20fl., don`t know why the height was decreased. The site is now already being prepared and constrution should start in March.
The 18 floorer of "Audros rumai" was rejected because of the height. The new project now includes 3 <10fl. building complex, constrution should start in summer.
New 16-21fl. building proposed in Taikos st., near to a renovated soviet highrise. Although is not clear will they be alowed to build it, because the height on that land plot shouldn`t be higher than 8fl.
And an another 12fl. highrise proposed in Taikos st., it should be a residential. And there`s no height limits in that land plot.

Wow, will Klaipeda be then "highrise capital" of the Lithuania? ;) Compared to its size the highrise development is probably bigger than in Vilnius.

Probably. There are a lot of restrictions for highrises in Vilnius, that may be the problem in the future, trying to match Klaipeda.

Population of city proper is somewhere ~190.000 and up to 250.000 with towns in 20km radius around the city. Show me another city of this size in Eastern-Central Europe having atleast 1/2 of development Klaipeda has. Not talking only about highrises, but also industry, infrastructure, logistics, port facilities and so on... More than twice larger neighbouring Kaliningrad looks absolutely ridiculous compared to Klaipeda in this case, so stop beeing an ignorant fool :ohno:
