I would ask the same question. All pictures couldn't be opened so I am not sure if there is a picture of Anitkabir.
That is the most important of Ankara in my opinion.

Ankara is a very modern and calm city. I like it so much.
The only disadvantage is that there is no sea :D Instead there is a big lake.

I love Ankara. I have so many memories in this city. Although it is not as lively as Istanbul, some claim, it just has an atmosphere which is unique to it, somewhat calm but very cool.. especially if you are with someone who knows her/his way around. There are many universities in this city, including METU (Middle East Technical) and Bilkent. I am not exactly sure but I think the university student population in Ankara is easily over 100.000. I think what became of Ankara looking at these pictures is an amazing story, considering the fact that Ankara was a village during the early 1920's, with less than couple thousand people and no paved roads.

The taxis and buses looks very old while the buildings look very modern. Strange!
