First of all, a little bit about Búzios

The city of Búzios belongs to the state of Rio de Janeiro, located on the coast of Brazil. This former fishing village is one of the biggest tourist destinations in Brazil for its beaches and active nightlife.

Among the most popular beaches are Ferradura, João Fernandes with several bars and known for its seafood, Armação, and Geribá, popular for surfing. The beach of Manguinhos is known for windsurfing. Rua das Pedras, the main street, winds through the town center and features shopping, restaurants, bars and comprehensive nightlife.

Búzios was popularized by legendary movie star Brigitte Bardot in the 1960s. Today, the city is so visited by tourists around the world that some call it the Saint-Tropez of Brazil.

Yes, in the summer of 1964 Brigitte Bardot visited the small town of Búzios with her boyfriend at the time, and there she stayed in other visits to Brazil. Since then, Búzios was ''discovered'' and became one of the most popular destinations of the Brazilian summer.

Great photos of Buzios it looks really nice - have tended to avoid going there because I thought it might be over touristy and way over crowded but I guess there must be times when it's a bit quieter. Good to see they have kept the character of the town and it's not littered with high rise glass and concrete boxes.

Yes it's true, in high season (November to March) the city is really crowded, but in other months you will find the city much more empty, which undoubtedly makes it much better. Fortunately the city has almost no buildings and retains much of the spirit of fishing village, which makes it even more special. Hope you come back soon to Búzios and that our city can provide you wonderful moments :)

Argentinians are the foreign tourists who mostly visit Búzios, and many have business in the city, such as hotels and restaurants. But in João Fernandes is really impressive, they are the majority even comparing with Brazilians!

1. The most famous street - Rua das Pedras (Street of Stones)

Restaurants, nightclubs, trendy bars, art galleries and shops representing the best scream are found here.
The original paving stone named the street that surely is the hottest spot in town.


2. Walk by Orla Bardot (Boardwalk on Armação Beach)

There are houses and a church of the eighteenth century, that keep the history of the old fishing village.
To complete the artistic landscape, bronze sculptures honoring the fishermen, the French actress Brigitte
Bardot and former president Juscelino Kubitschek.


3. Schooner tours

The boat tours are one of the best programs to do in Búzios. Schooners and catamarans depart from the
Armação Beach Pier toward to 12 beaches and islands, complete with stops for snorkeling.
