They are an important asset to Somalia, I dare say more important than the various natural resources.

Malaysia has a lot indeed. My parents were actually thinking of putting me there because of cheaper costs but they changed their mind. With all the transfer and credential nonsense it would have been a waste anyway if I came back to the states but for Somali graduates, it works well for them for the time being. The only problem is when they get back there are no jobs which is severely unfortunate.

I know of many Somali professionals who went abroad before the war and had scholarships to many great universities even in the West.

In a way, I hope that in a future government when the war is over inshallah, they do this for their most proficient students but I hope that they try to invest more into their education and economy at the same time so they don't brain drain in large numbers any more than it is now.

^^which University is this? but i know Islamic University, UTM and UUM have the largest somali students contingent in Malaysia.:)
