This art decó building is one of my favourites in BA. I'm so proud of the city where I live... By the way, this buliding is called "Casa del Teatro" (Theater House) which is an institution that provides shelter for retired actors in Argentina, and it's also a cultural center and a theater!... It's such a wonder...

Would it be difficult for an English speaker like myself to be able to communicate there? I took French in high school and college, so I really have no prior Spanish experience to draw from when reading signs and menus or talking with others.

Not at all, there are many people that speak english, so you won't have any problem...

I had been to BsAs two times ( 1978 and 2003 ) and it always surprises me ! a lovely city ! at someplaces we feel like in Paris or any european town! and in the modern part of Puerto Madero we see that Bs As is also an up-to-date town !Together with Rio de Janeiro , these two cities are the two Princesses of South America ! Ums amigos, eles CARIOCAS "DE ALGEMA" ( Nascidos em SP) me comentaron isto.
Se diz que os moradores do Rio, são cariocas da gema, ou carioca de algema, e pq de algema? porque ficaram presos dessas belezas e naum podem se ir. Comprendeu ? o bem nascidos lá ou presos pela admiracão.

Your thread says "new". No disrespect, but all I see are the same old buildings shown in all BA treads. It'd be nice to have seen city pictures- skyline, aerials or new towers & developments.
