st. petersburg has a lot masterpieces, but i just can't stand their colors. these green-white-gold-thingos are really disgusting. but at least the building is great, so...i'll give it an 8/10 :)

Too many ornaments for my taste...and the color is pretty bad as well. It'll still get an 8.5 though.

I like the facade colors anyway, but to those who dislike it - I beleive it has been pained different colors in the past (blue at least, and maybe other?), and it probably will at some point in the future change color, like a woman, who got tired of the same dress and puts another one on. The important thing is that in Russia the facades have been traditionally painted in bright colors, as opposed say to Britain or France, where the predominant colors of facades are gray/beige (the color of stone itself). With long winters and not so many sunny days throughout the year this makes some sense, at least to me.

Hmmm really decorative, but not my taste.... Especially the color is weird.
But it still deserves a 8.
