How expensive are the most expensive apartments in KL... just out of interest.
The most expensive apartment in KL would be The Binjai which is built opposite the Petronas Twin Towers (built by the same developer whom built the twins) ;) It is fronting the KLCC Park therefore a guaranteed unblocked view of the twin towers and the main KL skyline from the apartments......
The price of the apartments there ranges from RM1200 till RM1300 per square feet which when converted to US Dollars would be $342.00 per sq feet :)
The 15,053 sq ft double-storey penthouse, which has a 60 sq m swimming pool on the roof, comes with a price tag of RM10 million (USD $2.63 million) ;)
BMXican December 5th, 2004, 10:14 PM not much compared to the european or american prices but still a hell of a lot of money. what an exciting city kl must be. I'd love to have one of these villas in the shadow of the petronas towers..
TYW December 11th, 2004, 01:39 PM great!! the convention centre and traders hotel id rising so fast!!:okay:

hypermount January 13th, 2005, 03:39 PM The most exciting project to come out of KL!!!
http://www.veritas.com.my/port_varc_office/comm_lotC1big.gif
Lot C is a mixed use development of a 54-storey tower comprising of offices, service apartments and retail outlets totalling up to 33,900 sq. ft. gross feet area. Located next to Kuala Lumpur City Centre in Kuala Lumpur, the building plan is derived from a triangulated footprint resulting from 3 overlapping circles, inspired by the geometric purity of traditional Islamic patterns.

szehoong February 5th, 2005, 08:56 AM The construction blitz in KL after the Petronas Towers were built is absolutely amazing. I wonder if the same thing will happen in Taipei now that Taipei 101 has been completed.
Actually the construction blitz started before the twin towers we're built and to be precise - it was the mid-80s and it peaked in the mid-90s. The Petronas Towers we're completed only in 1997 ;)
But only in the past year or so we see again another boom thanks to the bullish economy :)

nicholasliha March 18th, 2005, 06:28 AM you know hor, all my friends who have been to KL ah, have nothing but starry eyed amazement at the city. machiam they go to space and then come back lidat. the train passage from SG to KL a transit to heaven or sth. Especially Alfian Sa'at, who is SO besotted with KL he vows to leave Singapore for KL in 3 years. So this led me to begin wondering why, after all, haven't we all been indoctrinated with the notion that Malaysia all big bully, and Singapore hub this hub that? Let me examine my feelings on the Vision City, KL.
1) KL is very much like Singapore. The street names sound alike. They could even merge and i couldn't tell the difference from one corner to the next. We, despite diversionary politics since separation, still possess roughly the same cultural stock as we did pre merger. melting pot. straits chinese. clan associations. indeed we are only 1-2 generations from that era of Malaya. therefore, an overwhelming familiarity with the streets of KL. also insidiously, a speculation of a Singapore that could have been, if not for the strait laced cultural masterminding of the PAP. those of us who despair at the doctrinous PAP in Singapore thus find visionary the kind of society KL has.
2) KL got civil society. got clan associations. got artistic initiative from the roots up. no have any committee on cultural mastermind. committee on terrorism sensitivity. committee on learn chinese learn mother tongue artistic society open and inclusive society and this and that. Therefore, KL arts scene does not have the spectre of insidious government interference. Art for arts sake in KL, art only if it makes economic sense (and entrenches political doctrine) in Singapore.
3) KL got nice building. Petronas i like. but name petronas i don't. reeks of political collusion, hyperinflation and monopoly. anyway same like our own temasek holdings. i don't like also. but KL got nice building.
4) ok the one sight i had of KL: on the train enroute to Penang when i was Primary Six. Pulling into KL by dawn for a morning stop over. i looked out the cabin window from my upper tier bed, and saw the gleaming silhouette of the Petronas and KL skyline in morning glory. The city from afar, sitting resplendent in a golden valley. My eyes popped out of the socket. breath taking.
Maybe i come KL soon. Before i go Taipei. In May. Ok. go Bangsar nightclub. Go eat roti kanai (is it?). Go and spit into Citijaya lake (oops). Still a lot of unaddressed grievances with Mahathir politics lah...
hkskyline March 18th, 2005, 06:38 AM http://www.veritas.com.my/port_varc_office/comm_lotC1big.gif
The Lot C development seems to take away the grandeur of the Petronas Towers. Part of the stunning view from Menara KL is the relative loneliness on which the twin towers stand with the huge park behind it.

Anyway KLites aren't that artistic lah....we're sometimes still submit to the whims and fancy of the government........some peformances need police and city hall permit for instance.....lotsa red tapes.....
Do you know Alfian Sa'at personally? I've seen his reviews bout a movie ....hmmmm

Well.....except that this twin isn't really twin. One tower is slightly shorter than the other ;)
There are many other twins around KL :)

The Orion is located along Jalan Tun Razak and it is directly opposite our National Library. ;)
As for Lot C......the only thing I heard is that they are gonna start construction early next year. Since this is a KLCC project........I expect it to be swift :D

Mosaic November 3rd, 2005, 06:32 PM KL is growing fast.
hsakakibara1 November 27th, 2006, 12:13 AM Kuala Lumpur is truly a gorgeous city. So cosmopolitan and modern. In fact, it beats most US cities to hell. Now only if the government would decriminalize being gay, then things would be just perfect!
