i remember marching with my HS band at VA State homecoming parade through downtown-it was very pretty. I kept screwing up cuz i was looking off at the buildings lol. I did that a lot in the parades we marched--durham, charlotte, atlanta, greensboro :)

Petersburg is some 25 miles south of Richmond and is included with Richmond's metro population.
