They are still still still still forever conducting feasibility studies on it. elaborate? what could be complicated about it? the soil conditions or population demand? it would be so cool to be able to travel from Newton all the way to Beauty World on MRT ignoramus November 29th, 2004, 08:59 PM elaborate? what could be complicated about it? the soil conditions or population demand? it would be so cool to be able to travel from Newton all the way to Beauty World on MRT I have no idea where Beauty World is even though my old jc uni apparently came from there. They are just drawing up plans. They didn't disclose any information about just where the stations are. It is still very early in the planning stage. After all, the line is expected to come up only in 2011 to 2016. They have a lot of time. RafflesCity November 29th, 2004, 09:04 PM Beauty World is near Bukit Timah Plaza, near KAP 2011 to 2016, hmmm...seems far away yet not that far but would the Bkt Timah line be over and underground you think? huaiwei November 29th, 2004, 09:19 PM No I want the East region line....it serves my area what. :D heirloom December 2nd, 2004, 09:08 AM eastern region line!!! that is, until i move (i hope i do). ignoramus December 2nd, 2004, 12:04 PM Beauty World is near Bukit Timah Plaza, near KAP 2011 to 2016, hmmm...seems far away yet not that far but would the Bkt Timah line be over and underground you think? Didn't they say that it will be underground? And anyways don't think LTA would want to build MRT lines above ground anymore IMO. They take up space that could be used to house people, cause more noise pollution, esp when sg is getting more and more dense by the day. huaiwei December 2nd, 2004, 12:07 PM Yey! Now we need two more votes and we win! redstone December 4th, 2004, 04:06 PM Eastern Regional The area is now so inconvienient and hot. kenmin December 5th, 2004, 07:13 AM Eastern Regional The area is now so inconvienient and hot. why incovenient? they already have a EWL. kenmin December 5th, 2004, 07:15 AM No I want the East region line....it serves my area what. :D ERL is not going to Hougang. huaiwei December 5th, 2004, 09:32 AM It can be extended. :D redstone December 5th, 2004, 09:41 AM Wu lui bo? huaiwei December 5th, 2004, 09:53 AM U think garman got no $$$ meh? heirloom December 5th, 2004, 03:38 PM actually most places are inconvenient because they're only connected to mrt stations via buses. i hate taking buses. i also hate transferring. and i hate having many stops. but i hate transferring the most. The session for MOT should be on 4th of March, based on previous years schedule. Will Mr Lim Guat Kwang bring up the MRT issue again? Based on the addedum to the President's speech earlier this year, don't think there is anything exciting this year. There is no mention of rail development at all. The closest we can get is the development of New Downtown transportation network. Revival of Marina Line? kenmin April 16th, 2005, 06:17 PM Read a not-so-recent article that mentioned ERL will be 35km, 30-station line. Did a measurement and it's approximately from Chinatown to Bugis. Here's my guess on the locations Chinatown Telok Ayer BFC Casino Millenia Tanjong Rhu Katong Park Tanjong Katong Marine Parade Telok Kurau Siglap Laguna Bayshore Upper East Coast End Expo Simei East Tampines East Tampines North Tampines Tampines West Bedok Town Park East Bedok Town Park West Kaki Bukit Ubi MacPherson Kallang Way Geylang Bahru Kallang Bahru Jalan Besar Bugis btw, this news is about 3 years old so they might have made some amendments like splitting the line into East Coast Line, from Chinatown to Bedok since going all the way to Expo now don't really make much economic sense, and ERL from Bugis (or MacPherson) to Expo. Looking forward to the announcement of first phase of ECL when the casino project is finalised. :) heirloom April 16th, 2005, 07:00 PM wah... so many stations in tampiens :uh: goodie :) but by the time they build that i dont think i'll be living here liao huaiwei April 17th, 2005, 07:14 AM Wheres the article? kenmin April 17th, 2005, 07:35 AM I dunno how I got it but it's a photocopied piece of article I now used as rough paper. Just happen to read it when I doodling on it... and most likely gone now. Anyway, I think it's from one of those journals. huaiwei April 17th, 2005, 07:53 AM Hmm....icic. Well I am wondering how to input that in wikipedia then. :D mrtfreak July 23rd, 2005, 08:05 PM Bukit Timah Line please. Why? It will aleviate the heavy traffic along the Bukit Timah-Dunnearn Road corridors. Compare this to the East Region Line, which provides intra-town commuting. The Boon Lay extension (Jurong Industrial extension) only serves the Tuas area. The Jurong Region Line would be a close competitor to the BTL as this serves the NTU/NIE campus(es). Kenmin, I realised that in the journal, the ERL doesn't connect to the NEL save for Chinatown station. Hmmmm.... That sounds inconvenient. Maybe that's why they have the circle line eh? Now that we know the ERL will travel along the Jalan Besar, does anyone think that there will be any stations along this road? Bendemeer station? Jalan Besar station? I hope the ERL will have a Geylang Bahru or Kallang Bahru station as my cousin lives tehre. It would be easier to get to her place rather than go to Boon Keng station and take a bus. kenmin July 24th, 2005, 05:37 AM Bukit Timah Line please. Why? I believe they have now decided to make it into a loop line which I thought should be the case from the beginning. However, may take a long time before the loop is completed. Some places the line passes through are still rather deserted. |
