si paris n'a pas les JO2012, je pense que la ville devrait organiser une expo universelle, elle qui a inventé ce type d'évènement !

la débacle de la soi disante Expo universelle de l'image à la plaine st-denis est pathétique, mais finalement une accumulation de hangars n'aurait pas fait une bonne EXPO !

C'est impressionnant comme une manifestation comme celle ci peut transforer des quartiers entiers. Aujourd'hui on soupçonnerais pas que de telle bâtiment est été construite à proximité de la tour Effeil.

C'est un beau reportage photo.

Au faite le Palais de la Découverte c'est le Grand Palais ?
Sinon j'ai remarqué sur quelque photos aérienne on voyait que Paris était déjà grand.
Sur cette photo l'édifice derrière l'emplacement du palais de Tokyo existe encore, c'est quoi?
Sinon on voit comme un pont qui longe le chantier, avec plein d'arc, c'est quoi?
Et encore une question sur la gauche de l'image on voit que les immeubles prés de la rive et ceux plus éloigné n'ont pas l'air a la même hauteur et séparé par un mur gigantesque, c'est un effet d'optique on quelqu'un sait ce que c'est?

Pour te répondre, Le Palais de la Découverte est l'aile arrière du Grand Palais...
L'édifice derrière le Palais de Tokyo c'est le Palais Galliera, actuellement musée de la Mode...Il a été construit lors de la première exposition Universelle, vers 1873...
Le "pont" qui longe le chantier c tout simplement la mise a niveau de l'avenue du Président Wilson...La Ligne 9 du métro passe à l'intèrieur...
La muraille qui est a gauche de la photo, s'est le socle d'une ambassade...Ce mur a été construit pour suivre le relief de la colline de Chaillot...

Paris avait alors un look rorccoco kitsch dingue!

et c'est napoleon Ier qui a fait arraser la coline de chaillot. de beaucoup de metres, elle était vachement plus haute avant. tout comme le sommet des champs élysées.

C comme le boulevard de l'Opera, qui lors de son percement, a nécéssité de tailler en plein milieu de la Butte des 2 Moulins...C'était un chantier très technique pour l'époque!!!

Merci beaucoup Fredo, les photos sont superbes!! Un des meilleurs threads que j'ai vu, Paris vraiment c'est la ville la plus impresionante du monde! Cette expo dévait être impresionante par la beauté des pavillions et la incroyable transformation de la ville!!

I think the most curious chararectistic of this exposition was that the palaces of the soviet URSS and the nazi Germany where one next to the other...watching them like mortal enemies. :lol:

il est vrai que cette expo s'est symboliquement résumée à l'affrontement entre les pavillons allemands et russes. tout en finesse...
c'est ce type de demo qui a influencé le public quant à opter aux states pour le modernisme architectural. tout un symbole repris par les archi du bauhaus qui sont partis pour chicago, new york etc. la venue d'une nouvelle ère architecturale.
