Telc lies at the midpoint of the old King's route from Vienna to Prague. It is the best preserved Renaissance town north of the Alps and was recently added to the UNESCO list of international heritage sights.

The guidebook says the square is so perfect that you feel as if you've entered a film set. The town is something of a tourist ghetto. Obviously it depends on tourism, and wherever you look there are tourists. Still, this is the acceptable face of tourism: the bearded guys playing guitars seem to be playing them there as it seems a good place to play -- and who could argue?

Very nice pictures, and even better town...The only thing that I don't like is that it looks way too deserted. Mabye I am wrong, but with that large of streets, it looks lightly used...

Unfortunately, the only city I visited in Czech Republic is Prague, which is so popular and beautiful that I sometimes forget that there are other beautiful cities in that country.

I especially love these old fashion squares with granite pavement.

IMO southern Czech republic is very attractive for the tourists.You can see the places like Ceske Budejovice, Cesky Krumlov, Karlovy Vary, Jindrichuv Hradec,etc. Btw, Czech castles are really woth to see.

Must see town...pictures are pretty with nostalgic feeling of realsocializm
