Here are some photos of the large town (Komopoli) of Kyparissia, which is in the Messinia Region of the Peloponesse in Greece. It has a population of about 10,000 and is on the Ionion Sea.

According to Omiros’s reference the town of Kyrarissia gave three ships for the Greek campaign against Tria (Troy). It was one of the nine towns which all together are framed as Nestora’s ninetown called “Kyparissiedas”. Pausanias referred an old legend which said that Dionisos switched with his stick on the coast and then bubbled up a source. Its name was “Dionisiada” and it is existed in the beach of Ai Lagoudi until our days and is full of water all year round.

It is nestled between the mountain (Egaleo) and the sea and gives off some magnificent views:

Yeah it is breathtaking, you should see the view from the Castle at sunset... there is a cafe at the castle, go there, have a coffee or a drink and watch the sunset.... your girlfriend/wife/mistress (lol) will love ya for it!

Kyparissia is a wonderful little town. The drive there from Kalamata to the south is some of the most amazing in Greece.

Yeah the part of the Peloponesse that is on the Ionion Sea is wonderful.. I have done the drive/train/bus from Patra all the way down to Gargaliani... simply stunning. And Kyparissia has a special air about it... a town, but a town with a buzz especially in summer when its population more than doubles!

I wonder if the inhabitants of this town know how lucky they are to live there. In fact, we should show the guys here some pictures of the Monemvasia Castle too. For those that know, it is the equivalent of the Mont St Michel in France. Unbelievable place!!!

Very nice pictures, well for us it's typical Greek beauties but objectively, it's really nice too. Unbelievable quality of life anyway...
