Final will be played in Ataköy dome Istanbul (22500 seated) in Istanbul, Group Games will be played in Abdi Ipekci,they will build two brandnew halls in Antalya and Ankara(7500 seated) and they ve allready started to build a (9000 seated) in Izmir..
all I know for now is this...Go TURKIYE!!!!

i think this championship has a great timing for turkish basketball. even if it's given to us for the success we had in this sport in recent years, i think we deserve to make an organization involving national teams from all over the world, it will be a good chance to see teams like argentina, china and of course u.s.a. competing for a serious title.

as i said, it couldn't be a better timing and chance for us to win a championship in a tournament that we host, because we have a great 1987 generation coming up with great talents like ersan ilyasova, cenk akyol, hakan demirel, combined with the stars like hidayet türkoglu, mehmet okur, ender aslan, who will probably be in their primes by 2010.

jimm, i can't see talented players coming from your country in forthcoming years, if you think you'll win this title with jasi and maji, good luck :))

hidayet türkoglu (2.08m f 1979), mehmet okur (2.13m f/c 1979), ender aslan (1.88 g 1983) for sure;

kaya peker (2.08 f/c 1980), kerem gönlüm (2.08 f/c 1977), ermal kurtoglu (2.06 c 1980) probably;

cenk akyol (1.95 g 1987, to me the greatest prospect of turkish basketball), ersan ilyasova (2.08 f 1987, arguably one of the most talented european players of his generation), oguz savas (2.08 c 1987, if he grows up 2-3 cms, has the potential to be a great center) from the young generation.

I hope, people will behave better than yesterday in inönü stadyonu - it was a shame the spectators did behave in the footballmatch against greece.
Even if I really like turkey and was hoping the turkish team would win, I could'nt stand these rude manners - even intensified by the officials in the stadion - which is forbidden in the rest of the world.
If they do behave in the same way 2010, there shouldn't be any international matches in turkey again.
If people behave a little bit fairer and nicer, it will be great and I'm sorry, that I have to leave turkey before the tournament starts.

I think 10.000 is good enough for Antalya. During the 90's, when Antalya had a team in TBL division 1, basketball was quite popular. The hall which was used is the one near the football stadium. It has a capacity of 2.500 I think. anyways, that hall was sold out when Antalya played against Efes Pilsen, PTT and Ulker, and many people could not get in. But other games, the crowd was around 1000-1500 tops. Right now, Antalya does not have teams playing in and Division 1's of basketball, volleyball etc. but if it had to have one day, the 10.000 seater would be more than enough. I am especially happy that they will build a 10.000 seater, instead of a smaller one because it might be used as a multi-purpose sports hall, like Abdi Ipekci, capable of organizing different events, even after the Basketball WC.

Well, 10.000 for WC might not be enough for some games, considering that many tourists will want to attend the games, and many people will travel. but in the end, I think it is the best Antalya can handle. Building something a lot larger would be unnecessary in the long run. 10.000 seats is a good capacity for sports like basketball and volleyball, will serve the needs of international organizations (including the upcoming WC), also will serve the needs of the city.

Actually my question was different. It might be enough for Antalya, but how about WC?

Interesting that is. OK, I did the mistake to say the truth - but I did see, that stupids where throwing bottles to hit the greeks - they where so stupid that they did hit other turkish spectators, but they tried to injure the greek football players. Is that a behaviour which is ok? No, I do not think so.
And you all know, how important istiklal marsi is in turkiye - why did 30 000 turkish fans shout and doing horrible noise, while the greek national anthem was played? I think, the same fans would have killed me, if I would have done the same to the istiklal marsi ...
No, there where thousands of missbehaving fans - and they have been turkish. And when you're ignoring that, I'm afraid, that these people never will learn to behave.
I do not say, that all turks are like these. I know a lot of turkish people hating behaviour like that too.
But I thinkthe least, everyone can do, is to be honest and to admit, that there are horrible behaving turks too - not all of the turkish people are angels like lots of germans are bloody fucking idiots or everywhere in the world there are horrible ones and nice ones.
If you're able to see problems like this, you can find ways to solve them. If you just close your eyes not to see this missbehaving, because you're a turk and you think, you should not say anything critical about some other turks, than you're not able to solve these problems - but the rest of the world will not close eyes and so I'm hoping, that people will behave better 2010 than they did one week before.
(One last sentence: I'm a German and I know that some germans are behaving horrible - but whenever I've got the oportunity, I'm saying so, I'm trying to show them theyr faults, I'm trying to solve that problem - I'm loving my country too and because of loving it, I try to do my best to improve it. One way to do so is to look, what is wrong there. One way to do the oposite is to close my eyes for mistakes and problems in Germany ...).

As I heard (if they didn't change the project) Fenerbahçe's Ülker Arena has also swimming pool. the ground is sliding. but maybe they changed the project. We will see

TBF, IBB and GSGM new planned arena was also 15.000
GS and Efes should joint it and they should built a +20.000 arena (=biggest in Europe)

maybe TBF will built a bigger one. Actually these unclear situation makes me worry for the organization.

This big arena will be built for Fenerbahçe, but it is not clear if TBF (Turkey Basketball Federation) will anounce it for 2010. And they still call the name of Abdi İpekçi. Also the location and size of the new arena wich will built for final is not clear.

Thanks God we know about Antalya now. We know the location, the size, date for construction and also we have render. For Ankara, all we know is the location.

There are rumours that Eren Talu will also built a new arena for GS.
Off. statement from a GS board member was +4.000, but there rumours about a new 7.000-10.000 (if GS pays it also 15.000)

Actually here is the plot for Ankara. where the new arena will be built(red). And the blue is the current 5.000 ppl sport hall. I hope it will be demolished.
