I will be going to see my brother who is teaching english in Jianyang for 2 months. Jianyang is in Sichuan province near Chengdu, does anyone have any information about Jianyang and Chengdu?

The city is close to the Chengdu economic development zone, and is very promising for development in the Chengdu plain economic circle. There's a tourism development zone in the region. The weather is warm and rainy, annual average temperature is 17c, rainfall 900 millimeters. The city is 2215 square kilometers large and there are 55 villages, with a total population of 1.43 million. There're railroads, motorways, national highways across the city, electricity, tap water and natural gas supplies are complete, communication facilities and network are well built. The city is famous for productions of foodstuff, porks, goatskin etc. There're also ducks, rabbits, fruits, aquatic products, vegetables, mushrooms... Service industry is vigorous, trading and tourism are with great potential. metallinestorm December 7th, 2004, 06:07 PM i konw there a city called Jianyang in Sichuan. i live in Chongqing, both Jianyang and Chongqing are in Sichuan basin, but i think Jianyang maybe more like Chegndu. I konw Chengdu, it is a nice city. You feel everything is easy in Chengdu, people in that city think life is first work is second(in Chongqing people not think that is right). Weather is good but nearly never sonw in winter and may be rain at any time. In Chengdu you can see many historic site, such as Dujiangyan built 2000years ago; you can see many key point of interest about religion becuase Qingcheng hill Dao's cradle is near Chengdu; you can see amazing view in Jiuzhaigou and there is a snow mountain called Xiling near Chengdu too, you just need one or two hours to go this place from chengdu city( you shouldgo Jiuzhaigou by air or you need one day. Others can drive car). BTW, my hometown Chongqing have many skyscrapers, you can go there too. It is a good place. I wish you have a good time in China. You can for sure find them by google. BTW, I love Edmonton. I've been in U of A for two years. The city is cute. The mall, the white avenue, the school ...
