I like the top, which slightly alleviates the boxiness of this building. I would have given it a 7 if they stuck a nice spire on top this one though.

I love the blades at the top, but can't say the same for the rest of the building, though the facade does something for it.

7.5/10 - The facade dances with the light, and it has fairly good height, helped a bit by the mullions. And those mullions help the crown fit in with the rest of the tower as their lines are continued upwards in the blades - very effective.
The crown would have blended in even better, though, if it had been made of the same glass and stone as the rest of the tower. And I'm not certain about the base at all. It probably could have used a few setbacks...

i like this building. i voted 7.5 out of 10. i really like the top of the building, but no matter what they do to the top of this building it doesn't change the fact that the building is just a tall box...i also like the facade.

Not crazy about stainless steel blades although they juxtapose the large concrete voids towards the base.
It changes colour depending on the time of day and/or the weather. I love standing right at the base of this one and looking up at it in awe. Ultra huge lobby areas that are very slick.
It is not quite the plain box some pollsters imagine it to be.

I snuck up this tower recently. I took the lift to level 60 and got permission from the receptionist to take photo's from the windows. The floor consisted of conference rooms and most were empty. I was treated to some very good views of the city

wasn't shit stirring - being serious, just think if this wasn't built, how easy it would be for Harry to get another one of his cut and paste junk jobs in the same place..... bleagh! Completely breaks up that are that is so typically Sydney (wooshy cruves, chaos and likewise brings order, and we all (Australians) know how "orderly" Melbourne's buildings are (well not the new ones ;)))... living outside the square.....DIFFERENCE..

The facade dances with the light, and it has fairly good height, helped a bit by the mullions. And those mullions help the crown fit in with the rest of the tower as their lines are continued upwards in the blades - very effective. My thoughts exactly. It's a bulky, monolithic, heavy-looking building. And like others have said, the facade is a little dull but helped by those mullions. I like the foyer though! I gave it an 8/10.

I am with you. It is a blight on our city skyline. Dark bland materials and colours gel badly with the surrounding blue and light of the harbour. The box shape has no humanising elements and works against the streetscape with heaviness and a dull overwhelming weight. The sandstone base was poorly conceieved and lacks cohesion with the upper sections of the tower. The tower could have benefited from additional lighter glass, blueish tones and a crown with twice the height and greater stepping. I am not fond of the blades and would have prefered a tall pyramidal top to replace it. This is my most dispised Australian tall building and I would have rathered less melbourne style and more sydney glitz in its place.

Sydney's absolute best building for me, very dramatic base and top, and a very dark, sleeky facade combining to create a commanding presence on Sydney's skyline. You may not notice it in the pictures, but the silver at the top is reflected in the grid design of the facade, thin silver strips running the height of the building. The base has Sydney sandstone, and huge aluminium (silver) blades at the bottom too. Love it!!!!! I want more!!

Commie block design. Ugly top. Dull facade. Bad color.

This is one of my more favourite Sydney scrapers. The mid-section is a bit generic, but the crown is creative and looks modern. Also the colour works for it. I loved this building in MI2 and it now has a special place in my heart.
Gave it a "7.5"

MI2 influenced my liking in this tower, if only it did have electronic cooling ducts and crazy research labs inside :p
