This is a question to all the fellow Turks.

What's your opinion?

I'm against our membership because i believe it will slow our progress as an emerging economy. I also see no future for EU.

I'm want our country to be member of the E.U in order to erase all these "Kaplanists" and to have a strong political and economical system which can't be destroyed anymore.

I hate EU officials to visit Diyarbakir right after Ankara.....I hate their poor parliamenters to call our Southeastern area Kurdistan by mistaken:no:...I dont trust this Union at all...I also am TOTALLY against to join any union with this poor GOVERNMENT..they dont represent The Secular Democratic Republic of Turkey of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk at ALL!!!!! and lets WAKE UP!! even that funny little member of EU:southern cyprus has the chance to VETO our membership after all ve said and done in 15 years...I would be ashamed to recognise those terrorist roots government as a country!! I dont know what you guys think about this issue...

I used to support it but not any more.
I think we should just keep out and follow the foot steps of other countries like Norway, Switzerland, and we can extend it to Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Point is that there are many counties in the world who does without E.U. Why not we?
We have lived without E.U. for about 80 yrs and we can continue to live without E.U.
All we need is strength and honour.

I agree with you but so far they have done a great job that others couldn't.

NO!!!! i dont want. our independent country wont enter a group of rulers union.
but i believe they say yes to us. and for 15 years Turkey will be a developed country because of the reforms and EU. after 15 years we will deny EU membership of our country and we will stay still independant and we will be new south korea for the world.

I think Turkey don't need Europe, we have a strong potential .. and I want an Independant Turkey which is not forced to do all the EU requirements.

The question I wanted to ask is what you guys think of ECO? It has ten members at the moment, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and six Central Asian Republics (AZE, TUR, UZB, TAJ, KYR, KAZ). Don't you guys think it has the potential and all the ingredients to become a successful economic block but it is pretty dead at the moment due to lack of commitment by member countries. I think some kind of regional integration is important in order to achieve rapid economic growth.

I agree, we can add Russia and China...

I think just the businessmen want EU more.Not most Turkish citizens.The EU is not so rigid for Bulgaria and Romania as they are to us,besides their economy and people's wealth is not better than Turkish people. I think our population and the number of parliamentaries that Turkey will have in EU parliament scare EU. EU will not allow us to travel in Europe even we are tourists anyway.An industrialized country like Germany is having problems with economy even they are in EU.

by the way i dont want any union for my country, Turkey is doing well without any economic help and any union!!

I feel close to an Euroasia union...

I used to support the idea of EU. After all those double-standard criterias it makes me to think, I am not sure.

The only reason I want Turkey still to join the EU is that I want Kampflamm and many euros too see Turkey leading the union :=p I supported the membership some time ago but not anymore(double standart is the biggest reason)

Actually imagine an Euroasia Union, including Turkey, Russia, Israel, Azerbijan, India, Pakistan, Central Asia Turkic states, China... It has all religions, all civlizations... It is a real civilization project :cheers:

if you want a create a union you need to find countries which share same values!!!
only Israel and Azerbaijan(and some other Turkic countries) can share same values with Turkey in your list!!!
