Let post about trophies of the cities in your country :)

Rules :

- Absolutely all cities in your country are accepted.
- You must choose only one city per trophy.

The 8 trophies :

- Most Historical City (which lived the most historical events and which has the most buildings belonging to past or oldest)
- Most Cultural City (which has the most diversities etchnic and cultural centers, like museums)
- Most Beautiful City (which is from its human constructions, its green installations and/or its natural environments, such as hills, rivers, edge of sea, for example)
- Most Attractive City (which presents the most amusement park, sporting centers, aquariums and other centers of leisures)
- Most Futuristic City (which has a futuristic aspect, very recent technologies and/or which will have, according to you, the most prosperous development)
- most Unique City (which has one or more obvious characteristics that a few cities have)
- Most Famous City (which has the most famous places in the world, which is attended and most powerful)

has many old churches, old schools, Spanish and American colonial mansions, old buildings and parks, the CBD is lined with Art Deco buildings, etc.
the second oldest city of the Philippines (after Cebu, Manila comes third)
- Most Cultural City (which has the most diversities etchnic and cultural centers, like museums)--MANILA
what do you expect from the capital of this country?

the summer capital

It actually depends on what you mean by Manila..
It could either be Manila City or METRO MANILA.

Makati city and Manila City is part of Metro Manila.. if you know what i mean.. refer to the map... it shows the entire Metro Manila :D

Metro Manila is slightly smaller compared to Jakarta, Indonesia in terms of land area.

Almost all cities in Metro Manila have their own Central Business district (CBD) Areas or downtown skylines. that is why Metro Manila has Multiple Skylines :D

Nomination process:

First phase: Each member country can nominate the city to be awarded. In this phase, self review by nominating country is applied. The review is done using theirs own criteria and indicator.

Second phase: Each member country can nominate three cities based on single category which is selected by the city. In this phase, self review by nominating country is also applied. The award could be given for the cities which achieve at least “good performance” on the single category they selected.

Third phase: Each member country proposed the award based on whole category comprising clean air, clean water, and clean land in which the city supposed to achieve “good or excellent performance” for two categories, while performance of the third category has to be at least “moderate”.

Fourth phase: In addition to using the three mentioned categories (whole category) as in the third phase, the city should use holistic approach incorporating as well air, water and land quality and management, health and sanitation, good governance, and awareness aspect.

I think no cities in Vietnam are more historical or more cultural than Hanoi. Hanoi has been inhabited by Vietnamese people at least 3000 BC and always has been being the most important city in Vietnam for more than 4000 years. It was only eclipsed briefly by Hue in the Nguyen dynasty for about one and half centuries.

And please respect to Saigonese people. Little Saigon can be only used to refer to some area in the US. It is NOT the city of Saigon in Vietnam.^^

Most Attractive: Saigon (I think Saigon should be the one that everyone wants to visit although there are so many attractive cities including Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Ha Long, Hoi An, Hue, Sa Pa, etc.)

Most Unique: Ha Long
Most Futuristic: Saigon (aka Ho Chi Minh city) (IMO, at least for the next 100 or 200 years).

It's ok. When I saw you "awarded" Kuching as least attractive city in Malaysia, I know you have not visited Kuching before. Actually Kuching is one of the most interesting cities in Malaysia, there are lots of beaches, national parks, long houses, museums, etc. in the city. I always read travel blogs from tourists at www.travelblog.org and most of them compliment Kuching a lot. :)

you just said that potianak (Indonesia) and kuching (Malaysia) are the least attractive cities. Kuching is much different if compare to Potianak even though they are two neighbor cities and have about similar demography. Just FYI.

even in Indonesia, I think Pontianak is not the least attractive city... but it's personal opinion though

Yup, when we talk bout "attractive", we use our subjectivity to say this is attractive, that's not, bla bla bla.
so, different opinion won't be a problem.
I think both Kuching and Pontianak are attractive. Kuching as one of the most advanced city in Borneo and Pontianak as one of few cities in the world crossed by equatorial line precisely in the center of the city (0 km of the city).
