guys i just came back from the UAE and to me UAE population is indeed not correct. Dubai is supposably a city of only 1.2 million in the 2006 census but to me it looks like a city of well over 2 million. Abu dhabi city according to the 2006 census has 578,000 people but with all the traffic problems and so many people, it looks like a city a of well over 1 million people. i really do think in UAE it is really important when the census is done because if it is done in the summer months then so many people would not be counted because so many expariates go to vacation with their famalies in the summer.i beleive the last census of 2006 was done in July so yeah it has to be wrong. The whole census of UAE should be revised and done at a proper time around december/January.

Lets not forget that most of whom living in Sharjah and Ajman work in Dubai and that adds to the population

why is UAE making houses for foreign people most of who are chavs?

I should add also that we are heavily dependent on cars unlike other countries, its 1 car for 2 persons comparing to the average 1 car for 9 persons.

^^ Actually, it is a dependancy. By the way, according to RTA, there is a car for every 1.7 residents of Dubai. I'm not sure if that includes the labour though, personally I don't think so.

^^ Difficult to say becouse the Consulate don't keep records and also the numbers are increasing dramatically. I would estimate 50,000 but that's just me, the number can be totally different from that (either higher or lower)
