I don't know but I think this building deserves to be called a "white elephant." Besides, I don't really like glass buildings. 6.5 (because it's so massive)
Phobos December 19th, 2004, 07:40 PM Don't know what score to give...I would like to see an aerial picture, anyone has?

Brett December 19th, 2004, 08:27 PM 9
Impressive, could be a bit more imposing though...
Sky | Kai December 19th, 2004, 08:33 PM boring. it should have been outstanding, interessting and never seen before. but this? sad for europe.

SoboleuS December 9th, 2005, 01:18 AM Impressive and beautiful. 9/10
marcobruls December 9th, 2005, 01:31 AM its a nice building but what is it doing in strabourg, thats like placing the pentagon in screwmeville, Allabama.

Mike December 10th, 2005, 12:54 AM its a nice building but what is it doing in strabourg, thats like placing the pentagon in screwmeville, Allabama.
Strasbourg was choosen as a symbol of unity between Germany and France because over the course of the centuries it has sometimes been part of Germany and sometimes part of France.
Matthieu December 10th, 2005, 01:03 AM its a nice building but what is it doing in strabourg, thats like placing the pentagon in screwmeville, Allabama.
Well, I'm not sure what's the Pentagon doing in Washington either ;). Why not NY or LA?
Kampflamm December 10th, 2005, 01:03 AM its a nice building but what is it doing in strabourg, thats like placing the pentagon in screwmeville, Allabama.
You don't really know much about Europe, do you?
Singidunum December 10th, 2005, 01:17 AM 9.5/10
Singidunum December 10th, 2005, 01:19 AM I gave it 9.5 before I've seen it's extremely bad location. I thought it was inside of some modern neighbourhood with other monumental modern buildings, wide streets etc. Now I see it's surrounded by farms, small houses and some halls. Looks like it was constructed in the middle of a village. With location counted in vote I'd give it 7 at most.

Kampflamm December 10th, 2005, 01:34 AM That "village" you're referring to is Strasbourg.
Singidunum December 10th, 2005, 01:41 AM ^^
Really???
:sleepy: I know that it is Strasbourg but the part where Parliament is located is the border of Strasbourg where you can already see farms and farms usually don`t belong to a city

Ning December 10th, 2005, 01:46 AM it must be an old photo because today there is a tramway running there now ;)
lakerdar123 December 10th, 2005, 01:55 AM less than 3. not only is it ugly but it is in the worst setting.
Kampflamm December 10th, 2005, 02:03 AM What are you people complaining about? There's a ghetto a couple of blocks away from the US capitol.
Singidunum December 10th, 2005, 02:07 AM What are you people complaining about? There's a ghetto a couple of blocks away from the US capitol.
Well I am from Serbia not US, you know ;) We are clean and modern country without any ghettos or farms in city center :)
get13 December 10th, 2005, 02:21 AM Trust me I have visited this building and you really need to see the interior to appreciate it's true beauty. The large wooden "egg" that is located inside and contains the debating chamber is absolutely amazing and standing in the open courtyard in the centre of the circular building is breathtaking. Also I was there this summer and I don't remember there being any farms near there so it must have undergone development.

Valeroso March 3rd, 2006, 09:24 PM Given its huge glass facade (and I'm a big fan of glass), along with that really cool circular structure, I have to say that this building does possess a few nice points! People are complaining about its location, but given that it had to be situated in Strasbourg, I think that its waterfront location is a perfect area to situate the building! The only major dissapointing thing about this building for me is, as someone else mentioned, it could do with abit more imposing. Also, I don't think it truly represents Europe, but I can't expect too much given that we're in a completely different era. Either way, that interior shot looks awesome, so I give it an 8/10!

Valia March 30th, 2006, 01:23 AM ^hi! DonQui
to de forum people: i like that location outside the city with a beautiful natural environment, it's great, the cities must be more than bricks and concrete, i think so.

calenzano April 3rd, 2006, 05:38 PM NICE BUILDING 7/10
pricemazda April 3rd, 2006, 05:48 PM Now that Europe is slighty bigger than the original six, maybe something of significance for Germany and France is not of significance to the rest of us.
It would look better if it were in Brussels. Even the MEP's hate travelling there.
It would be like making German MP's move to Bonn every 4th week, or British MP's to Coventry.

Slartibartfas August 19th, 2006, 09:13 PM I like the European Parliament building in Brussels more, not only because I think that the EP should be located in Brussels only.
But nonetheless its a cool building. Especially the interior is of rare quality IMHO. It looks inside better than fromt he outside.
8,5/10
