forumer that said that Florida's cities are growing so fast that they will one day merge into one supercity. As it is now Sarasota/Bradenton,Tampa/St. Petersburg,Orlando and the Titusville/Melbourne area have just about become a continuous urban area. The Miami urban region is about 113 miles long stretching from Florida City all the way up to Jupiter. Projections show that it's only a matter of time before the big merge occurs. The only major Florida city that seems to not be affected by this massive urbanization is Jacksonville. Similar situations are occuring in the Texas Triangle with the eventual merging of Sherman/Denison, D/FW, Waco, Killeen/Temple, Austin, San Antonio and Houston and a developing urban region stretching between Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Atlanta, Greenville/Spartanburg, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Raleigh/Durham. All this is projected in the next 46 years! I thought that this was very interesting and wanted to share this with you guys. What do you guys think of this? I knew the south was growing but, damn!

theyll b merged my suburban development, but they will still b their own cities... u can drive straight from ny to philly and its developed the whole way, sometimes considered one metro area, but theyres still two different cities, the florida, texas, and the south mite all merge one day (although i dont belive they will, because by then peoplell have wised up and somehow well realize that this sprawl is gettin to the point that were gonna kill ourselves), but itll still b different cities

I understand your point about them still being their own cities and everything but if this merger does occur rush hour will be no more because the roads and transportation options will probably be jammed almost around the clock.

i think that the metrorail expansion should be a light rail, not heavy rail

no way dude, the efficiency of light rail sux, give me hardcore heavy rail any day, the ridership numbers are much higher too
