These photos were taken in Salamanca, a beautiful university city (about 180,000 inhabitants, with 40,000 students, many of them from all over the world to learn Spanish). It is located in central Spain (Castile and Leon). The town conserves many Renaissance and Baroque monuments built with unique golden sandstone. It was chosen European Capital of the Culture in 2002 with Brugge:

i honestly think this city is magnificent and impressive. But at the same time it's so oppressive and dark. It's probably just me, but that city seriously scares me, i would love to visit it but I would never live there.

Why do you think so?
Because of the 2 universities, there are thousand of foreigner students, and night and day living is very funny. In its streets you can hear german, dutch, french, english, italian...
And it's a sunny city.

@Cicarra:Well, these photos were mostly taken during cloudy winter days. Maybe thats the reason of your depressive feeling. But from April to September, Salamanca is sunny and bright, and all year long is not depressing at all. It's a well known party capital. :cheers1:

In my opinion, this square is one of most beautiful of the world.(maybe because I live in Salamanca :| )
