Public opposition to the project has forced the Mayor to hold a referendum (May 2006) on Alvaro Siza plans, conceding that "it would be a mistake not to vote on such a radical break with the traditional image of the city and ask Lisboans their opinions on plans for the 3 towers (105m - 35 floors).
Yesterday, one of the main investors on the project said "it is impossible to wait until may 2006 to make such referendum. We are waiting since october 2003, and we are loosing money everyday waiting and waiting, we will advance with the alternative project (8 floors, 25m) made by another architect, by June 2005 we can start construction".
The images bellow only show shapes and first studies, according to Siza every tower would have different materials from each others (Glass, metal, etc)
2 residentials and 1 for Office. The project also included a kind of "bridge-building" above the avenue, and several gardens
