New tower. 160 apartments. Underground parking (seems to be the trend in new developments).

The upper portion is so unique, it's great. I'm also wondering where they're building this.

Howard Hughes Center
Westchester, California

This fifteen story residential tower is planned for a prominent westside location adjacent to the 405 freeway. A “belt and suspenders” post-tensioned concrete frame will contain 160 apartments with 270° views of the city. All parking will be beneath the tower with access from Center Drive. The skin will be a combination of curtain and window walls and the geometric massing of the tower will allow for many more corner apartments than the average building.

I like this tower also, i'm sure its not going to be the only residential component, at Howard Hughes Center, also a hotel component, is called for in the master plan, there are about 5 or 6 good sized sites left, before total build out!! any word on a start date?

I don't think it's Perkins and Will, tho it does look like there work. I don't know who did this this building, ( i'm sure its local firm) but i'm betting that its the Nadel partnership. Back in the 70's, 80's, Nadel's work was mostly, (in my opinion) non discript, glass box, international style. it looked to me like like, "cheap" buildings. but it seems as if this firm is in prosess of determining a signiture style for itself, (the 23 story Californian condominium, under construction in the westwood/golden mile, area is there work, and i find its deco styling very pleasing. However it could also be Gruen associates. I don't think the buget on the Howard Hughes development, would include looking for architects on a national level.
