Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The population of Sarajevo is about 500.000-550.000 people. Bosnia and Herzegovina was attacked for 3.5 years, and now, Bosnia and Herzegovina is recovering at an extraordinary rate. Bosnia and Herzegovina’s population is about 4.000.000 people, and its population growth rate is estimated to be 0.45%.
Sarajevo was dramatically damaged by the 3.5-year war, and a lot of re/construction is occurring now. Currently, the tallest building in the Balkans is being built in Sarajevo, the Bosmal City Center. Sarajevo has great potential for a skyline and I was just wondering what you people thought about it…It’s not really that much, but when look at how many projects are going down, it makes you really think about what it will look like in the future.

This is a picture of Sarajevo and it’s beginning skyline.

8.5/10. It does look rerally nice. Especially in the dawn or night pictures. Not the tallest buildings in the world however height does not matter as much as how well it fits with the city. I think the skyscrapers fit very well, and that wouldn't be so if they are much taller or too many of them. I like the hill with the houses in the background.
Why has the parliament building so many floors?

Why has the parliament building so many floors?

well, i guess alot of office space was needed for the parliment, like it is needed now. that explains the large amount of offices being built in sarajevo at this moment...

8/10 It is awesome to see Sarajevo rise from the ruins of the civil war!! I remember seeing the building that will be the Parliament building getting hit by tank shells from tanks on the hills surrounding Sarajevo. Didn't it used to be some kind of media center?

It is hard to believe that the beautiful city that held the Winter Olympics just a few dozen years ago has been almost destroyed and is rising back up. Please keep up the good work. The world needs more people who rebuild damaged cities, than it needs people who destroy cities!

thank you very much for the comment. :) anyway's...i really believe that the only reason that bih had reconstructed soo quickly and is constructing more is simply because of the booming economy, in which is growing a fast rate, and keeps going steadily. :)

the future for the country is certainly one of the best in the region.

Bosnia and Herzegovina have decent to good relationships with Malaysia, since Malaysia is interested in foriegn investment. They have contributed in many projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and are fully aware that they economic potential is good. :)

There are still a lot of visible scars from war, but nothing major. There aren't any ruins left any more, and all the places tourists may visit are completely fixed up. It's in residential neighborhoods and old front lines that there are a some bullet holes in the walls because they are very hard to get rid off.

Regarding talls, yes. The 75 meter parliament building is being reconstructed. The Bosmal twin towers, 118 meters, are being built as well. There are also plans for a third Unitic tower (the current two are 95 meters tall) and a 22 story addition to the Holliday Inn hotel. We also have it from a good source that Bosmal may build a 110 meter office tower in the near future as well. There were plans for an 18 story bank tower but the idea was scrapped because it would ruin the harmony of the old town sector.

Primarily economic investment in Sarajevo, good relations between our former leaders.

I have a faint memory of Sarajevo holding the Winter Olympics and I remember thinking it was a beautiful city. Now, after all that it has been through, it is once again a beautiful city. It's a tragedy that it was a part of so much horror at the breakup of Yugoslavia.

10/10 for coming back and being a beautiful city once again.

There are no plans yet to take action but if Al-Shiddi does not go on with its investment it will face legal charges from the government...

It could only have a been someone from Holland, saying that, and thinking Rotterdam is on one line with New York, Chicago and Hong Kong. You make me laugh here, dude; The skyline of Sarajevo is beautiful and will have surpassed pathetic Rotterdam within ten years. Now you make me laugh  Sarajevo's skyline will not surpass Rotterdam in even 100 years. Do you even know what's planned in Rotterdam right now?

The skyline of Sarajevo is not so bad, i'll give it a 7

Sarajevo is one of the greatest places I've ever been to. it's not only about the skyline, architecture, but most of all about people and culture. hopefully I'll have a chance to come back there some time in the future.
