in anything you want, this forum is full of crappy lists, you can make your own. :D And yours in really crazy. But anyway, haven't seen any list in SSC that isn't crazy, done by forumers or some really impressive studies (i'm being ironic of course).

Exactly. No wonder this forum has shitloads of 5'000-posts-users (or even more). But I know, substance is boring, spam is fun.
As well as the Euroscrapers.

Breslau is easier to pronunciate, especially in English.

By the by, the Czech capital is oftener called "Prague" than "Praha" eg. Don't see the matter with such a discussion though.

Can't this thread be closed? We already have 2007, just to add.

... still Breslau sounds much differet than Wroclaw and it may be misleading for many. Times have changed, now it is Wroclaw. And we want everybody to get it right. Right?

Breslau is the Germanic name just like Helsingfors is the Swedish name for Helsinki. The fact that it's now owned by someone else doesn't change the history of the city.

Unfortunately Prussians didn't know that when they changed the name to Breslau.
Guess why there is a big W in Wrocław coat of arms.

Sorry Man, but I have never heard about Helsingfors. If I hear it, I would never guess what a hell you are talking about. And this would be MISLEADING.

This tread is not about history! Be sure that Poland has also something to say about Wroclaw history though. It is not that the Prussians were the whole universe. By the way, if you are truly interested in Wroclav history there is a very good book on this topic written by Norman Davis. It's really worth reading. It's in Enlgish, so no problemo.
Cheers
