Welcome to Täby, a municipality north of Stockholm. Here can you find the biggest(?) commie-block in Sweden, Storstugan! It was built in 1970, it has got 17 floors and a cool shape. Check it out!

Btw. I saw a documentary once about a commieblock in Sweden, with 2000 people living in it..but I don't think it was this one, as it had no curves iirc. Any idea what it can be? It was planted in the middle of an area with single attached houses, on top of everything, and very crime ridden.

And it's in the shape of a 'C' - for "Commieblock." :)

Thats a nice commieblock, but the parking lot is a little excessive.

I'd guess only the circular-y parking lot is for the commieblock, the rest is for the mall next door.

@Nightsky, Swede and everybody who is interested: I've got the answer with the height now! Storstugan is 48,4 m up to the main-roof, and the white fan-rooms on top are 2 m tall, so 50,4 m totally :)

Woah, must be some of the largest commies in whole Scandinavia...:eek: But the parking lot was a big waste of area, should have built a underground parking station.

If it was in the US, such a large complex wouldn't have any problem to fill the parking lot.

@AC5 - do you know the adresses for the two sections? I've got it at Emporis as just one building (that's what we all thought it was:)).

Yup, the big buildings address is Åkerbyvägen 82-98 (postalcode 183 35), and the smaller has got the address Gustaf Bergs väg 17-17A (postalcode 183 70). I'm sorry I left the conversation so quick last night, but we had a power failure here for more than an hour, that's why :)

Power failures, I know what that's like.

^I don't know about the size, but in height is Storstugan taller (17 floors, Grindtorps has got 11)
