Mumbai, Feb. 1 (PTI): Boeing expects close to 500 commercial airplane orders valued at 36 billion dollars from India over the next 20 years, its Senior Vice-President (Sales) Dinesh S Keskar, said on Tuesday.
"From India, as per our estimates, Boeing expects about 492 civilian airplane over the next twenty years... The order size would be around USD 36 billion," he told reporters here.
About 80 per cent of this airplane requirement would be for smaller regional jets, while the rest would be for the wide-bodied aircraft, he said.

"Last year, we received firm orders worth USD 15 billion from India," Keskar said.
The Seattle-based aircraft maker also said it will be revising its India forecast in the second quarter of the current year.
"Last year we made a forecast of 370 airplanes valued 25 billion USD which we revised to 470... we will be revising considering the market scenario," he add
Isan February 2nd, 2006, 06:03 AM Aeromexico orders Six Next-Generation Boeing 737s
1 February 2006
Aeromexico has ordered six Next-Generation Boeing 737s as part of its continuing fleet modernization program. The airline ordered three 737-700s and three 737-800s. Scheduled for delivery in 2007, the airplanes are worth approximately $372 million at list prices. It is the first order booked by Boeing in 2006.
"Since they were introduced to our fleet in 2003, the Boeing 737-700 has proved to be an exceptional airplane and with the acquisition of the 737-800 in 2006, we will continue our fleet renovation program with great success," said Francisco Cuevas, Aeromexico's chief financial officer.
When the airline receives its first 737-800 in September 2006, Aeromexico will become the first Mexican airline to operate this Boeing model. Aeromexico will also become the first Mexican airline to operate the 777-200ER when it takes delivery of two of these airplanes in the first half of 2006.
All six of the newly ordered airplanes will feature Blended Winglets - eight-foot-long wing tip extensions that reduce fuel consumption by approximately 4% and increase the aircraft's range. The winglets improve the airplane's performance at hot, high altitude airports like Mexico City, and help reduce engine maintenance costs by reducing engine wear. They also contribute to the airplane's noise performance by lowering the engine thrust required at takeoff.

Isan February 16th, 2006, 10:29 PM Hawaiian Airlines to acquire four additional Boeing 767-300
15 February 2006
Hawaiian Airlines has signed letters of intent to acquire four additional Boeing 767-300 aircraft, which will bring its long-haul fleet to a total of 18 of the wide-body aircraft. The company expects to introduce these aircraft into service after necessary modification work has been completed. The expected dates of introduction and the additional services these aircraft will operate is to be announced at a later date.
“This expansion is great news for our company, our employees – especially those we will be able to recall from furlough – and for Hawaii tourism,” said Mark Dunkerley, president and chief executive officer.
The four 767-300 aircraft Hawaiian will acquire were previously operated by Delta Airlines, which rejected its leases on the aircraft in conjunction with its ongoing Chapter 11 reorganization. Each will be overhauled and outfitted in Hawaiian’s standard interior configuration, including 18 seats in First Class and 242 seats in Coach.
