Hehe...

This is how you go up the Sheares Bridge. Get it? ;)
http://img160.exs.cx/img160/7423/dscn02231fo.jpg

The current nearest station to it is City Hall. In future, it will be Millenia Station. :)

These are some photos taken on it.

From photography perspective, I see the cars and the person running as an interesting subject. I can't tell if he is a guy or not from where I stood. It's not as near as it seems to be in the picture.

yes..the Sheares Bridge is a MUST ritual for any skyline and skyscrapers fan of Singapore. And finally some pics of how to get up! Many times people have been asking how to get up on it and it isnt exactly easy to describe...

great pics hyacinth!

Raffles Quay can already be seen starting to exert itself on the skyline

That whole stretch is really a fascinating place..can walk all the way from the bridge to Marina City Park too..good to chill out..but a bit creepy also ^^

I happen to like the first pic a lot

You meant the ECP traffic? No worries. They add some element of fun... the bridge does "tremble" when the vehicles go by...

So, if you want to take the night scene, a tripod may not help much... unless, it's a silent night without wind or vehicles on the road.

Oh... someone advised me to go there like end/early of the month if you want more lights, I think when there are more people doing OT, closing the balance for the month etc... Have fun, people! :)

another great angle would be to walk further down the bridge to the grass field to minimise the shaking..although not on the bridge, the view is just as stunning

OffPeakClassic8
April 14th, 2005, 05:08 PM
RafflesCity - Really? I didn't realise that till you infd me. Yeah, Capital Tower was in green colour indeed. Hey, thanks :-)

Cliff - Yup, BSB is lighted on one side only which is towards Kallang Basin (not so busy). The one towards Marina Bay is not lighted mainly due to navigational purposes for the steersman on the boats and ferries plying across that section of the waterway. Bright lights on that busy and narrow waterway may hinder safe navigation at night.

in any case, we are not into voyeurism here. zooming into offices is as bad as zooming into hotel/residential rooms.

In future, getting to Millenia Walk will simply be a matter of taking the Circle Line to Promenade Station.

by then another new & funky double-helix bridge will offer a more relaxed walk across the bay :D

yeah that access is like a small path past the construction site LOL, and yes you should use a tripod, the bridge is EXTREMELY shaky especially near the MRT hole.

you can give it a try for day shots but night shots will definitely require a tripod

Hmm,taking photo during daytime and night time makes a difference?

Daytime less prone to shake bcos of the availability of light...... Night time more prone to shake becos u need longer shutter speed to compensate for the lack of light.....

Singapor3

Shutter speed is the delay?

Mr.ASAP
May 20th, 2006, 06:27 AM
Shutter speed is the delay?

yes, its kinda like giving your photo more light (rephrase: to expose your photo to more light) hence there will be a delay....normally taking night photos the shutter speed delay can range from 3seconds to 10seconds....

so you will need a tripod to keep the camera still or else you will get blur images, but the bridge still shakes so much because of the cars going by :bash:

If only Capital Tower occupied a more prominent position in the skyline (like btw republic plaza and ntuc centre). Its a really unique skyscraper that is unfortunately being hidden, and will be completely hidden after the Sail rises.

Also noticed that the palms on the IR site have been removed.
