MrTall January 7th, 2005, 02:09 PM That last pic shows the Artique site at bottom right, so it's a pretty recent shot. But the skyline certainly needs more scrapers between Q1 and Broadbeach...hope we have some proposals soon.
Anyway, those interiors are nice, except for the reconstituted stone benchtops and vanities!! Yuck! Give me black granite anyday.
SUNNI January 7th, 2005, 03:54 PM nice~~
clean and modern,,,,
duh,,,,--;;; hehe
DamienK January 7th, 2005, 07:04 PM Nice. Price tag - 890 000 dollars!
tayser January 7th, 2005, 11:50 PM the enclosed balcony is just another room with windows all around... there's no balcony effect at all? strange being that it's the Gold Coast
maybach January 7th, 2005, 11:55 PM Love the ensuite and the views from the indoor balcony.
Avatar January 8th, 2005, 12:06 AM Foul is all I can say... all that money and they can't even give you full length windows. I can't believe it; that is attrocious beyond belief. It looks pokey and there doesn't seem to be much of an open flow-through feeling.
What the hell is the point of that balcony section... just rip out those windows and open the plave up I say. That section makes it feel like some crappy old appartment building where the owners have opted to enclose the balcony in glass. The whole place is so dark for a 42nd floor appartment - it should be bright and open, hell even the apparments in the imperial surf up the road appear more spacious and airly than this offering. It doesn't feel like a gold coast appartment at all. I hope some of the other appartments look a little larger and more open.
I have to say I am less than impressed with what I see I hate to know how much someone paid for that... I'd feel ripped off.
Nice decorating with what appears to be a 1970s shower curtain over a window.
Avatar January 8th, 2005, 12:12 AM The more i look at it the more I want to vomit - its just horrid. 890,000 could almost buy two sub-penthouses in the Peninsula across the road - knock out some walls, redecorate it and you would have a far better place in which to live. I'd be waiting for the other towers to finish and come onto the market - Maybe they will have a greater appeal and a better price tag. When you are up that high its only fair you get full length windows.
plotstyle January 8th, 2005, 12:13 AM strange combination of fixtures and fittings....
to get a better idea you actually have to go there...
you know i dont even rate apartments like this in tall buildings unless they got a killa view or are decked out to the max
Ellatur January 8th, 2005, 12:39 AM faints...
so its only about 500000 USD right? NOT BAD AT ALL!
uewepuep January 8th, 2005, 01:18 AM Pfft, whiners. It looks good!
AG January 8th, 2005, 01:33 AM Thats one uberlootely awesome view. Love to see the view from one of the 70+ floors.
defec8R January 8th, 2005, 01:50 AM Hopefully there's some airflow in that balc so it can be used as a smokers' booth. A "doghouse" to display their habit.
zulu69 January 8th, 2005, 02:42 AM I think it looks good, but the balcony area is wasting space. Without the enclosure it would look much nicer. The window would be still there and all and people could still see the goodness.
$890 000 isn't too bad at all, especilly considering the building, i have expericened much worse..
plotstyle January 8th, 2005, 02:50 AM Foul is all I can say... all that money and they can't even give you full length windows.
spot on! i sat in a room someone was staying in at crown with full length windows and i sat there for 20 minutes not saying a word in a state of trance;)
Tony P January 8th, 2005, 04:42 AM It looks modern with a slightly art deco streamline to it. I like it.
However, if you want to keep the collection of Philippe Starck designed 'Louis Ghost Armchair", i.e.,
http://www.dwr.com/images/zoom/zm_2456_3.jpg ,
then rip out the dark carpet and lay down some white capet instead. Otherwise, put some of these 'Eames Eiffel Plastic Side Chair'
http://www.dwr.com/images/features/active_color/f_6455_white.jpg
instead, to match the dining table and the collection of other white/stainless steel chairs elsewhere in the apartment.

Avatar January 8th, 2005, 05:12 AM Whingers? For $890000 you can be a whinger and you should expect the very best! :colgate: sorry I would never pay that much for an appartment minus the full length windows... I think I'd want an outdorr balcony too... unless I was in Trump World Tower where I'd settle for that beautiful flush glass.
I like the Art deco inspired acrylic chairs (most people would think these cheap and certainly not from a reknown designer) but at Tony points out... a light carpet would be appropriate. The chairs lack weight in the context of the room and the other articles of furniture which have depth and volume. Very, very bad interior design. Carpet in cream, white, light grey - that dark grey carpet is doing the colour and tones of the finishes no favours. The should keep the fitting all dark with dark granite and dark grey velour and leather if they wish to keep dark carpets. Mix and matching ceramic and glass vases, terrible (what is that mostrocity on the kitchen bench?) Their interior designer simply has no idea. That green glass is also so year 2000.
BTW this aint whinging, lol I just like being overly critical when I know it would be easy for someone else to do much better!
Avatar January 8th, 2005, 05:20 AM Have a look at this... OMG I want, this is how and appartment should look! Get a load of those windows!!!!

CULWULLA January 8th, 2005, 06:38 AM i reckon it looks great. its only a 2 bedder and only up 42 levels.thus the small price. The 3 bedders up another 30 levels would be cool. Thats one thing about balconys. No one ever uses them.these are motre like "Queensland rooms" lol.the ocean seems to be at your feet.

You want everything Avatar! ;) Too bad those windows aren't gold tinted.
plotstyle January 8th, 2005, 08:34 AM Ffl To Rcl?????
Avatar January 8th, 2005, 09:22 AM You want everything Avatar! ;) Too bad those windows aren't gold tinted.
They are tinted... bronze lol the tiniting is normally not reflective on the inside though :P
Fabian January 8th, 2005, 10:14 AM Whingers? For $890000 you can be a whinger and you should expect the very best! :colgate: sorry I would never pay that much for an appartment minus the full length windows... Keep in mind this is a prestige tower which distinguishes Q1 from other Gold Coast resi towers!!!! Also an apartment like this in Sydney would be going for well over a million. I think your getting a good deal. Your getting CBD style living in one of the best holiday destinations in Australia. I think the apartment is very stylish. The interior is nice and I admire the retro styled wall, which is fairly good for it's beachside location
Macca-GC January 8th, 2005, 11:07 AM I'm going up there on tuesday. Can't wait.
Their interior designer simply has no idea. That green glass is also so year 2000. You do realise that the building is designed to be like the Sydney 2000 olympic torch. I agree, but that's what it's supposed to be like.
so its only about 500000 USD right? NOT BAD AT ALL! Closer to about US$600-650,000.
aussie man January 8th, 2005, 12:19 PM I must admit I'm not overly impressed either. The bathroom seems very nice, and the kitchen from what I can see quite nice also...however the rest is just horrible. And that enclosed balcony is one of the worst things I've seen...I'd much prefer having the space as part of my living area, or have a proper 'outside' balcony. As some have mentioned, a full length window would be nice as well.
Trances January 8th, 2005, 02:11 PM ok so so nice
look at that water view
RADULA January 9th, 2005, 10:44 AM I had a look yesterday. I must say that avatar is being way too critical. He is judging the colours and interior design from a couple of photos, some expert...
The enclosed balconies actually worked quite well, you need to see it in real life. When standing in them they do feel like a balcony because frsh air is allowed to rush through them and on the western sides of the building you can actually open the glass right up to the elements. On the beach side however the wind would blow you away if there was too much exposure. The views were amazing!
SUNNI January 9th, 2005, 12:00 PM enclosed balconies are used in most high class apartments in asia,,
air still flows through, its nicer than some of you think :runaway:
Avatar January 9th, 2005, 12:19 PM LOL I didn't say they would all be like this... I'm just saying I am not happy with the one we have seen and I am not happy with the layout.
As for the enclosed balconies - well I know there is a need for them but I'd have rathered full length windows and no balcony at all if given the choice. I am not the only one being critical.
JayT January 10th, 2005, 11:00 PM the enclosed balcony is just another room with windows all around... there's no balcony effect at all? strange being that it's the Gold Coast
Why??
The enclosed balconies remind me of most of the stuff going up in and around Fortitude Valley - though they have enclosed balconies because of the noise. It is like just another room though. If it were up to me I would just get rid of the balcony and make all that living area into one big room.
jt
Wezza January 11th, 2005, 09:26 AM I like it. Only thing i don't really like are those hanging lights. Otherwise, nice! :)
MILIUX January 11th, 2005, 09:30 AM ROFL. Someone can afford Bang & Olufsen audio set.
I agree with Avatar, what's with short height windows?
