I think Mike posted a good summary of the topics in the german forum. As you can see, most threads are either about architecture or political and social issues. Ok there are some fun threads. But this should be allowed in the german forum. Or are there special rules for the german forumers?

Many threads were opened to get a better realtionship with our east european neighbors. Everybody posted some pics and everything was fine.

Where was the problem?

i dare to say that the reason why german forumers came there was, because they had the freedom to post all the stuff they liked. because they liked the freedom of that forum was also the reason why actually some decent stuff was still posted like mike pointed out.
installing a mod, who will thorougly clean up the fun stuff means nobody of will visit the forum anymore and he can moderate an empty forum, but thats just my 2 cents, cant tell if im right or wrong

Well, someone else will answer this. I just arrived and think the forum need a moderator (look, no moderator of the German forum is German speaking). I haven't done much in the forum closing. There were already discussions on the matter before I become a mod.

I'm just giving my 2 cents as a forumer here. For the rest, I can't really answer you.

A new moderator would be a good idea. I suggest Kampflamm.

well, just a thought, wouldn't it be better to have a "deutschsprachiges forum" german speaking forum with Germany Forum, Austria forum and Switzerland Forum as subforum and also a Skybar.

There is surely some truth in il fenomeno´s statement:

As I already mentioned there is an alternative for the "serious" stuff and so some people might only stay here if they have a special freedom...

ok, there wasn't a "special freedom" in kind of only posting trash. nevertheless there have been some really serious and interestant discussions, or just threads. the big vantage of the DWF/Skyscrapercity is also that one may post pics and texts free without rules regarding copyrights...

A new moderator has been appointed for the DWF : Dubai-Lover , he is German and lives in Düsseldorf.

For the moment he is cleaning up the entire section.

interesting, without regarding copyrights.
So in your opinion Skyscrapercity is a place for ignoring existing copyright laws?

Please tell me in which section of the SCC forum rules this is written down?

Copyrights are ignored everywhere in here...which makes ist easier to post Picture-Threads than in other forums...

Now, whats the sence of a new german forum?
There are a) no german forumers left that are interested in architecture and b) no skyscrapernews in Germany since at least 2 years.
