I decided to collect the construction pictures in Vilnius through a period of the last year till now. There will be few parts for this thread, because there are plenty of pictures to show. Let us begin! :)

nice mantaz, brought back some memories, i remember i was there in may or something... then Ea wasnt ready yet and i was like "wtf" about ET, and scared what EA would become. too bad about Vyrokas' colourscheme, but mby its just the windstopper(errr) and some form of reflective glass or something is going to be put over it?

@grendy Thanks, I like it too :)

@ch1le What do you mean a windstopper? I doubt it will be changed since they said "Green color will remain" :( Although we see that they like experiments, so it's possible that they can just change their minds about the color and build the other parts in different colorscheme (that'd be another shame) :|

May pics will appear later, so you'll see what you saw that time ;)

Btw, I needed a while ago a pic of EA and I couldn't find any. Not even on emporis, just renderings. Dunno who's Lithuanias editor there, perhaps it's a good idea to put a few real pics of it there ;)
You could just ask :D The editor is John, but I think he's too busy to bother with emporis. Nevertheless, emporis is a profit making page based on unpaid people work :| If you still need a pic, just pic one of these from HERE (http://tinkle.miestai.net/viewtopic.php?t=569)

Btw, I needed a while ago a pic of EA and I couldn't find any. Not even on emporis, just renderings. Dunno who's Lithuanias editor there, perhaps it's a good idea to put a few real pics of it there ;)

This is strange because there never were renderings of EA in Emporis while there were construction pictures since the very beginning of the construction, you perhaps just didn't notice them ;)

Those Delfinas apartments look very weird in that place of Vilnius. And the color of Vyrokas is disgusting :puke: What the hell are they thinking?
But anyway it's nice to see that Vilnius is getting more and more beautiful :)

I used to live very close where the Helios tower is going to be build. Even though it's a very nice building I have to say it will look very weird in that place because it's way to big.

very impressive, what I like the most is that its a first class architecture not some crappy projects, this kind of architecture never ages IMO

well the name is really BAD!!, but the building itself from the front looks really good, only from the back, it looks like green colored soviet commie
also i read in lithuanian forum, that municipality aproved three new highrises in sheshkine district (not commies)

2004 has been really exciting in your city - it changed the way I look at Vilnius. I have a feeling that over the next months we will hear about new exciting highrise projects in Vilnius.

The best in Vilnius 2004 for me - Europa Apartments tie with Europa Tower.
The worst - Delfynas and the policy of naming the highrises in Vilnius so far.

The company which built Delfynas is going to build something large in centre of Riga as well. I am quite scared of them.

It's Delfinas :D When you say with y you sound like some characters from TV :D Btw, I think its named after a factory that used to stand there, and this name wasn't official like mentioning in official media etc. We cought this and started using here, in SSC ;)

And I'm curious about the project in Riga too :|

Is Delfinas the same "Nida" project (we in Latvia do not have Y in alphabete so I do not know when to use it)? I agree that the building itself is quite OK, in commieblock district it will look very very good. The location + scale in this location are very bad. But nothing to do... We got some bad things in Riga over the last years too :(
Btw. Dutch investors which make that top-quality department store on Gediminas avenue promise large investments in Riga over the coming years too, no concrete plans revealed yet. Have they started the work in Gediminas avenue?

When I expressed criticism about the names, I did not mean "Delfinas". I meant rather the Europa Tower and Europa Apartments. Highest buildings of Vilnius needed fine local brand names to distinguish even more.
