Drunkill January 8th, 2005, 03:00 PM Give me that level 45 one, the last one :P Good enough, great veiw of the yarra and city.
Perth4life3 January 8th, 2005, 03:03 PM i feel sick at the yarra, i thought it was blue!
http://www.realestate.com.au/objects/props/9305/102099305al1103213936.jpg
gazmo January 8th, 2005, 10:12 PM Yeah the colour of the Yarra is no where near blue - perhaps (in an attempt to stay positive) the saleman would describe it as "coffee with milk"
The apartments are ok, although the layouts feel cramped.
aussie man January 9th, 2005, 03:54 AM very nice...the yreally blow Q1's interior out of the water...I was quite dissapointed with them.
christarrant January 9th, 2005, 05:31 AM the views to the north from E are hands down the best of any apartment in Aust and maybe even the world ? this is because you have the entire CBD layed out before you at its best possible angle !!!!!
maybach January 9th, 2005, 08:09 AM i feel sick at the yarra, i thought it was blue!
That is not the yarra. It is the open pipeline for Cadbury's Willy Wonka chocolate factory next door (out of shot).
Drunkill January 9th, 2005, 08:42 AM Mmmm river of Chocolate.
Yes it is the yarra, it must of rained alot the night before that shot was taken.
swifty78 January 9th, 2005, 08:45 AM OMG at The Yarra! I thought the Brisbane River was the most feral. I think the views would look nicer at sunset and night time.
Avatar January 9th, 2005, 09:16 AM Yup I agree the apartments in Eureka look far better than what we have seen of Q1.
That Yarra river is disgusting though... It needs filtering or something, its just vile.
perthwa January 9th, 2005, 09:24 AM unlike sydney harbour yarra views probably lower property values :D:D
RADULA January 9th, 2005, 10:28 AM There's hardly much difference between Q1 and Eureka's interior except Q1's are much more open and brighter.
Grollo January 9th, 2005, 11:16 AM It's impossible to compare the Q1 and Eureka interiors from these pics are they are only pics of the kitchens looking inwards, not pics of the living ares looking out to the view.
sakor1 January 9th, 2005, 11:42 AM To those bashing the Yarra's colour... remember it is a mud base river not sand so it will be brown.... always has been and always will be. By world standards it is not that dirty, but you certainly wouldn't want to drink from it. But the colour in those shots does look a bit off from the usual, perhaps because of the height, I dunno...
Stu
salamagd January 9th, 2005, 11:43 AM There's hardly much difference between Q1 and Eureka's interior except Q1's are much more open and brighter.
And some of the fittings that are visible in the Q1 photos are pretty nasty. Especially those lights, they have to win the hideous award...
RADULA January 9th, 2005, 11:48 AM And some of the fittings that are visible in the Q1 photos are pretty nasty. Especially those lights, they have to win the hideous award...
The lights look fine in real life, hello, photos...
I always knew someone would eventually put pictures of the apartments on this site and I knew people would make useless comparisons between the two buildings, how bloody predictable some people are.
MILIUX January 9th, 2005, 11:53 AM What are you people on about?
The interior designs are crap. The fixtures are so 2000....
You peeps havn't been inside a real apartment.

I agree some of you need to study interior design to see just how bad those pics of the Q1 apartment is. It is but one example however and we can only go on what we have seen.
RADULA January 9th, 2005, 11:58 AM okay then. :sleepy:
RADULA January 9th, 2005, 02:08 PM I'm sorry but what is with this strange layout in what looks to be a kitchen in a hallway.. Maybe the photo is playing tricks with me? Do my eyes really see a kitchen in a hallway? Plus the narrow as hell balconies are a disgrace to human comfort. Wheres the space? You victorians need to learn how to relax. :) :jk:

Its hard to believe that somebody could possibly think that such a cramped style would blow any apartment out of the water...

fucken awesome views though. :)
salamagd January 9th, 2005, 02:10 PM Admittedly, it does look a bit like that, but if you look at the bottom plan there, you can see that it does open out into the living room just behind where the photo was taken :)
Grollo January 9th, 2005, 03:24 PM Cramped style? Melbourne is a major city not an overblown holiday resort, these are aprtments for urban living not glorified holiday houses :-) That one beroom is very well designed and spacious compared to many one bedroom CBD high rise apartments in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
RADULA January 9th, 2005, 03:48 PM Yea melbourne is a major city, thats awsome. But the gold coast a holiday resort? ummm, hamilton island, thats a holiday resort....Try Australia's 6th largest city mate. Silly melburnians, always bashing the GC, yet they just wont stop migrating here in droves...:S :)
Dean January 9th, 2005, 11:39 PM ^^You know. You're a lot brighter than u look.
AtD January 9th, 2005, 11:46 PM Why does the level 41 apartment have two bathrooms and only one bedroom? Strange.
Grollo January 9th, 2005, 11:50 PM So that when you have guests they don't have to walk through your bedroom to go to the bathroom (so you can keep it as messy as you want hehe).
Blabbyboy January 10th, 2005, 12:28 AM you'd be so ripped off if you got an eureka apartment facing the south - high price, no view, so cramped! i don't understand why anyone would pay a premium to live in an apartment - but that's just me - i need LAND.
Daffy January 10th, 2005, 01:02 AM I think that they are reasonably impressive for apartments especially the relatively tall ceilings and the real balconies. The real worry would be the common area fees.
Don't worry about the Yarra - splash - it grows on you!
Grollo January 10th, 2005, 01:10 AM The Eureka layouts are logical and efficient, the Q1 apartment layout, athough larger, are generally all over the place, uninspired and inefficient.
Look at this Q1 layout, what a mess with bad angles and wasted space everywhere:
http://www.qtallesttower.com/images/floorplan/plan_b.gif
In this aprtment visitors have to walk through your wardrobe to get to the toilet!
http://www.qtallesttower.com/images/floorplan/plan_f.gif
barneybuck January 10th, 2005, 01:20 AM I went over to Williamstown from Southbank on the ferry yesterday and I can assure you the colour was nothing like that in the pic. it actually looked reasonabily clean - maybe the photo was taken after a downpour when a lot of silt is flushed down from up river where is is a clay base.

ROFL!!!
Go travel to Maquarie St, Sydney and then tell me that Eureka Apartment's interior are better.
Eureka's interior look no better than Waitara blocks.
Grollo January 10th, 2005, 01:43 AM Try finding a brand new aprtment on Maquarie Street, Syudney for $350,000.
Eureka Tower is not a super luxury apartment tower except for the top levels (which are sold as shells with no internal walls or fittings) and the prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. If you want super luxury in Melbourne look at Royal Domain, The Melburninan or YVE.
GMAC January 10th, 2005, 01:48 AM I dont really see the point of trying to compare two styles of apartments when they are in two different cities with very different lifestyles, the size of the balconies is the perfect example. Having said that, I would have to say that my preference would easily be Q1, I like my space and it is clearly bigger. Im not really sure how you can say that one is more efficient or logical than the other.
salamagd January 10th, 2005, 01:55 AM my preference would easily be Q1, I like my space and it is clearly bigger
Just interested, but what makes you say that it is "clearly bigger"? In both towers, the sizes of various apartments vary enormously depending on which one you're looking at.
Daffy January 10th, 2005, 02:07 AM Interesting floor plans for Eureka, do those dicky little tapered 3 seater lounges get thrown in with the apartment; how accurate are the bed plans? It seems that there are about 4 different double bed sizes in the plans.
I like the curved walls in Q1 and the off square walls in Eureka, they add interest to the interior; "efficient" layout might be of interest to a developer trying to squeese in as many apartments as possible per floor.
Icanseeformiles January 10th, 2005, 02:08 AM coming from a metalurgical background the Yarra will always be brown. Its not pollution that makes it brown but the fact that mineral particals such as clay etc are too light to sink to the bottom of the river. It's perfectly natural - a pity yes, but natural. It's just the geography of the areas through which it flows.
oh yeah...what a pathetic kitchen! that's gonna drive cooks mad! Where's the bench space? Thumbs down BIG TIME!
christarrant January 10th, 2005, 07:50 AM dont look at the crappy Yarra, look at the glistening skyline behind it and youll be fine.:)
Macca-GC January 11th, 2005, 04:01 AM first of all, Melbournians can never again have a go at the Brisbane River.
Secondly, I couldn't agree more, what is with that Kitchen?
Thirdly, those balconies are tiny, prefer Q1's if they had full length windows on the outside and the half window with the actual apartment.
Fourthly, you're very fair Grollo. Comparing the lower floors of Q1 to the upper floors of Eureka. And besides, the bad angles is because Q1 is more interesting. It isn't a couple ofdistorted boxes mixed together.
Shado January 11th, 2005, 04:43 AM I went over to Williamstown from Southbank on the ferry yesterday and I can assure you the colour was nothing like that in the pic. it actually looked reasonabily clean - maybe the photo was taken after a downpour when a lot of silt is flushed down from up river where is is a clay base.
Both the Brisbane River and the Yarra look much browner in aerial photos taken from above during the middle of the day. (because you see the muddy bottom). From ground level both look much clearer (becuase you're looking more towards the banks through the water than at the bottom).
Obviously space is at a premium in these apartments, but I think from those designs Eureka handles it quite well. Q1 I don't think the pictures were that good. And the floor plans seem vague.
uewepuep January 11th, 2005, 05:41 AM And besides, the bad angles is because Q1 is more interesting. It isn't a couple ofdistorted boxes mixed together.
Vs Q1 the distorted toilet paper roll with an angled roof.
I'll pay the green colour as being "interesting" though.
Blabbyboy January 11th, 2005, 05:48 AM hahahahaha - there are several different conversations going on here!
Wezza January 11th, 2005, 09:17 AM Yes i must admit, going by the plans and the pics, they do look rather cramped. Prices are better than i expected though, so it makes up ground there. Would be keen to see some pics of penthouses when this one is finished.
360 Modena January 11th, 2005, 06:13 PM Nice views!! So close to the Crown Promenade =).. Is that Willy Wonka's chocolate, or Willy Wonka's sewerage? Can't wait to see the views from the spire's observation deck... its gonna be great!! =)
MrTall January 12th, 2005, 02:36 PM As far as interiors go I'd have a Eureka apartment. The finishes and fittings look so much classier, the layout is fabulous and the kitchens in particular look like quality.
Q1 kicks ass for views however, but I still can't forgive those benchtops!
