View Full Version : The Opera House (Operaház) | Budapest, Hungary
Raine January 12th, 2005, 04:11 PM The construction of the Opera, completed in 1884, was executed according to plans by Miklós Ybl. An ornate interior and exterior in the neo-Renaissance style serves the needs of the metropolis. Fine art works from leading Hungarian artists decorate the building. The technical equipment was supplied by the Austrian Asphaleia Company. The Opera House was renewed on the occasion of the 100 th anniversary of its opening.

Matthieu January 12th, 2005, 04:15 PM It's inspired by the Opera Garnier of Paris, but it's still slightly different, It gets 8/10 from me.
Matthieu January 12th, 2005, 04:17 PM I don't really have pictures of this one, though more would be welcomed.

Wicky January 13th, 2005, 12:06 PM Most of some precious architecture in Budapest was built in the second half of the 19th century, while in the northern part of the kingdom (guess whose territorry) have existed different architectorial styles from 14 - 15th century. It gets 6 from me.
