I'm susprised that, it seem like awesome city. When project have take groundbreaking? LosAngelesSportsFan January 12th, 2005, 10:34 PM Nice! thanks for that. looks like they are listening to the people. i like the rendering of the 40 story building. To bad they decided to go shorter than the 65 stories. By the way, whats the website for that? Vlad the Great January 12th, 2005, 10:43 PM Finally LA is starting to wake up. Hope we see even more projects like this!! :) djm19 January 13th, 2005, 02:41 AM I think I like the other version. At http://www.grandavenuecommittee.org/ And it has a taller tower not me, that other vision has only 4 towers and keeps those ugly county buildings. The forest city vision has 12 towers... who cares about height... the 12 are tall enough for me. djm19 January 13th, 2005, 06:06 AM well, the old one doesnt keep the ugly buildings, in fact, getting rid of those buildings was a key point brought up in the community meetings. vicecityguy January 13th, 2005, 06:58 AM well, the old one doesnt keep the ugly buildings, in fact, getting rid of those buildings was a key point brought up in the community meetings. Dude, yes it does. Originally the Grand Avenue Committee website showed this vision for the park area: http://www.grandavenuecommittee.org/images/contact_mainimg.jpg You can clearly see the county buildings. I do agree that subsequent to the initial renderings, there was "talk" of removing the buildings but none of the original renderings have those county buildings out of the picture. This new picture from Forest City clearly shows those buildings REMOVED. badtz January 13th, 2005, 07:05 AM MORE SKYSCRAPERS!!!!!! That is all. :) LosAngelesSportsFan January 13th, 2005, 07:55 AM forest city was the losing bid, so this is not what is going to be built there. Related Co is the winning team and hopefully they will release a rendering soon, including those county buildings being removed. savvysearch January 13th, 2005, 09:24 PM Thanks for the design, but they didn't even hire an architect as they were going to do a design competition if they won. These designs are just to visualize what it could look like and give us an idea of the project. Money Man January 17th, 2005, 11:32 AM Honestly, I would love to see about 10 buildings in all, with two of them being over 50 stories, then having the rest being in the 15-40 story range. I think the mix between highrise and midrise buildings would give a dramatic feeling about the city. I was recently downtown for the L.A. Auto Show. I am so surprized, even perplexed at everything. Driving past 7th+Fig, South Park with the new lofts right across the street of the convention, and all the cranes. :) :) I am so HAPPY about all of it. Even seeing small designer stores(Maybe not Gucci and Dior) like Ann Taylors, and Maxwells,; it is just an amazing feeling. LosAngelesSportsFan January 18th, 2005, 03:05 AM ^ ya its definitley an exciting time right now and i cant wait to see what the near future holds for DTLA yeah215 January 24th, 2005, 09:08 AM I thought that I read that Related is expected to release its preliminary skematics and plans this month. I was wondering if this was correct and if so when? Thanks. LosAngelesSportsFan January 26th, 2005, 07:03 AM i just read on the expo line forum that the date is feb 1 6:00 at the dorothy chandler pavillion. |
