First of all, let me just tell you how astonished I am to realise that there's a whole forum dedicated to Macau here at SSC!! I only realised it today!
I have some questions.

How many people still speak Portuguese in Macau?

Quantas pessoas ainda falam portugues em Macau?

I have a lot of interest in Macau, albeit I have never had the chance of going there. Can you tell me how easy it is to live there for like, a month? Is it cheap? Can I get by in Portuguese/English (I can try to learn some Cantonese..)?

:runaway:

Macau population is made up about 3% of Portuguese population. But 30% of people owns portuguese passport.

Portuguese is a compulsory subject in some school. So i think people in Macau will at least speak some portuguese.

Everything is very cheap in Macau, so i don't think u need to worry about this. You can rent a service apartment near the city center if u want to stay in Macau.

Portuguese and English are both the official languages in Macau. Most people can speak it, but not well.

depends on which area you want to live, most of the service apartments locate near the central and the casino areas. I think the rent is probably about few thousands patacas per month. And don't live in Taipa because sometimes the traffic can get very bad during peak time or when it's raining.

You can search 'Macau Apartments' in googles for more details.
