A feasibility study of the Hanoi – Ha Dong monorail has recently been completed by TEDI Consulting Company.

The construction is scheduled to start this April on the model of build-transfer (BT), to be completed by the end of 2007, and open to use in July 2008.

This is the first of the eight monorail routes that Hanoi plans to build from now to 2020. Under the scheme proposed by TEDI, this route will have a total length of 14.828km, with 14 overhead and two underground stations.

The first phase of the project is to see the construction of the overhead section from Cat Linh to Ha Dong’s new bus station, totaling 12.88km.

The underground section from Cat Linh to the Hanoi Railway Station, 2.011km, is to be built in the second phase.

Not as far as I'm concerned. Too bad most of the overseas Vietnamese were from the South. LOL
