Man, Long Beach looks so much like DTLA now! But the thing I wonder is if they're building so many lofts, where's everybody gonna work? :eek2:

I'm interested to see how LB will tie the Pike together with the rest of DTLB. From my understanding, DTLB still needs more mixed-use development to make it more pedestrian friendly along those large stretches of condomiums. .. Kinda reminds me of the Wilshire Corridor in Westwood with the high-rise condos.

All in all, LB looks good! I feel like LB is to LA what Oakland is to the Bay Area.

Seeing these pics reminds me why I love LA so much. I have such a huge art-deco fetish. :D

They should link Long Beach with San Pedro using the red car already in operation. That would be awesome. Long Beach is looking much different in recent years. I can't wait to see what other changes occur!

Wow ! That's a far cry from the Long Beach I visited ten years ago.

BTW, what do tennis shoes dangling from an overhead wire mean ? I see that a lot in Orlando too. Is it just a fashionable prank ?

That's a REALLY old thing. Back in the 90s, they usually meant the area coming up was a bad area. Or at least what the gangs around the area thought. But they're probably just wiggers in Orlando doing it, I haven't seen them since 1999.

It used to mean that whoever's shoes they were, that means that that person was killed/died.

That first pic is beautiful. I definately have to make a stop in LBC next time I am in LA. My family usually takes me to the same spots.
