ch1le January 17th, 2005, 03:33 PM nice pics!
Kaunas is definatly Baltics 4th!
Geex January 17th, 2005, 03:37 PM Thank you @liutass very much.
Oberleutnant January 17th, 2005, 04:20 PM Thank you, very refreshing views, most of which I hadn't seen before. How much people live in those HUGE suburbs you can see in the background?
wc eend January 17th, 2005, 04:27 PM Nice pics, but it's a pity that most are made from the same angle, and that there are no pics of the nicest parts: Orthodox Church, the Wooden District, city centre etc.
vytauc January 17th, 2005, 04:27 PM Thank you, very refreshing views, most of which I hadn't seen before. How much people live in those HUGE suburbs you can see in the background?
I would say some 65%-70% of Kaunas population lives in such commie districts.
Liūtas, the pics are very nice, thank you.
chukchi January 17th, 2005, 05:01 PM Very nice pictures. What a shame that I was in Kaunas when I was only 9 years old.Don't remember anything though. Next time I be in Lithuania I promise I will visit it.

That a shame. How you can live? It's a tragedy. In old age you should migrate to live in Lithuania:)
schmidt January 17th, 2005, 06:28 PM WOW hehe, that city looks so 'metropolitan' :D
You got some cool stuff over there :)
SkeiTeriS January 17th, 2005, 06:59 PM Very nice photos liutass :applause:
Oh yes.. I wonder to know how the new hotel will looks in the oldtown :)
chukchi January 17th, 2005, 08:02 PM What a shame. How you can live? It's a tragedy. In old age you should migrate to live in Lithuania:)
That's ok, don't be so dramatic  And why should I migrate to Lithuania when I'm old, maybe I'll do it at a young age ;)
tech January 24th, 2005, 05:13 PM It was joke;)
zippo21 January 24th, 2005, 07:20 PM I like that white smiling building the most :)
Monkey January 25th, 2005, 08:46 AM Thank you, liutai! These are lovely photos, shot on clear, beautiful winter days! :)
This time you focus primarily on the River area and the buildings near it, with occasional views of what lies beyond. A very nice approach! :okay:
@zippo: yes, that building with the smile is just charming! Have you seen it live during a visit to Kaunas? -- Welcome to the forums!
tournesol January 27th, 2005, 12:41 PM Very nice pictures indeed! Beautiful old town, though I'm not sure the suburbs are quite so nice. But please show us more pictures, also from the suburbs!
Btw, it seem that houseboat in the first picture has a bit of a problem ;) Unless it's a submarine of course! :)
DenverDane January 27th, 2005, 02:16 PM Thanks for showing some new angles of Kaunas in your photos, liutasa! They are great, especially the first two!

That pseudosubmarine has been removed finally and luckilly, 'cause it got even more problems after ice moved in the river... :eek2:
I have a puc with it too, although I would have prefered to have one without:

It's a cosy town and it's quite fine to live in even without it being "metropolitan". But you can't know that. :D
Sidel November 15th, 2005, 11:57 PM Nice pics...I even can feel the weather!!
