Perth is an example of an Ideal skyline, with a beautiful park, tall skyscrapers (not crowded), a highway passing trough. It looks too organized.

i love the organised fashion of this city. It just makes it so good to live in.

the current proposal for emu brewery are 160m x 2 and a 150m tower which would be at the western end of the skyline.

I like Perth's skyline, it's very well proportioned. I hope these new developments don't throw off this aesthetic. They look so good though, so I doubt it'll matter.

Well thats no suprise!! Sydney has a population of over 4.3 million... and Perth some 1.5 million.

In that regard you might argue that Perths skyline is impressive for its size.

Perth is my favorite city on the face of the earth, i've never been there, but plan to die there. reason, it's one of the most isolated major citys on the planet, it just seems to me like the last place in the sun, a great place to spend the last years of my life.!!!

Perth Waterfront is an 8 year project and they still need to do a proper masterplan, so far we a have seen conceptual designs of what to expect. first construction should be in 2011-12

Central Park looks better without the St George logo. That said, from what I've seen, I really like the Perth skyline in general. Sure, it's not a big skyline, but that's not a problem when there're 2 distinctive towers. It's a heck of a lot more recognizable than some other bigger skylines out there. Central Park and BankWest do complement each other quite well in my opinion, and I actually worry a bit about how the BHP building will affect the dynamics of the skyline when it's completed (from what I've seen, I'm not a big fan of how it looks).

Yeah i think BHP will shock a few people to!

for too long its looked the same and will change drastically. But in that last image i posted you will be able to see all 3! :D

I do like Perth and current projects will improve it but I wish there was more depth to the skyline on tha north / south axis, say along William and/or Barrack St.

i would have preferred to see something with a similar profile to central park or bankwest.

^^same here, but im really getting used to it, you can see from side on its a very slim tower, so from many angles its the same 'look' as the other talls.

Best place to see Perth is from Kings Park - I don't think photos actually do Perth justice, it's not a Melbourne or a Sydney but still a cracking little skyline, I gave it an 8.5. Maybe a bit biased as I was there a couple of months ago and kinda fell in love with the place.

Perth does seem to be going through some endless boom. You're the Calgary of Australia, in some respects. What do locals think of the new BHP building going up? Perth, like most big Aussie cities, has a great looking skyline. I'm quite undecided about this new addition though.

The BHP building going up looks good, very sleek and neat, and will look even better when they put the cage on the top.
