hello, im 17 and in my first year at college in the uk. i want to move onto university, i have a passion for architecture. i wanted to be an architect but i decided as i just couldnt stand the thought of designing houses and not scrapers and interesting buildings plus i didnt like the amount of technical drawing that i guess would be involved, plus i want to earn a decent wage, i was wondering is urban/city/town planning worth going for? is it good pay generally? what exactly does it involve, should i just leave my passion as an interest or should i pursue a career i would like?

thanks in advance...

The famous philosopher David Brent quoted Dolly Parton when he said: 'if you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain'. If you plan to be an architect just to design skyscrapers and make a good wage, I suggest you pick it up as a hobby. Keep in mind that also your favorite architect has to deal with commissioners, small projects and blueprints.
