I know the planning school you attend does not matter but let's see a list of the Top 20 anyway. Can anyone find one to post up?

I don't think there is one, dude. Good news, though. Most, if not all, of the top architecture schools have top planning programs. Therefore, naturally, you'd expect a top 20 planning ranking to look similar to the TOP 15 SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES OF ARCHITECTURE (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=121801) ranking.

^^ I agree to an extend that it doesn't matter what planning school you go to for in the end it's you yourself who determines how good you're going to be. School is just basic theory. Usually that knowledge will not be used a lot in a professional career, but it does make you smarten up. But one is also being influenced and inspired by the people you meet underway.

^ I agree, especially since you don't even need a planning degree to be a planner. Geographers, economists/social scientists, engineers, architects, MPAs, MBAs, JDs -- they all can be found in planning positions.

We are talking about US schools. Mr Man mentioned the two rankings on US schools, which makes this discussion in the context of the US.

How much would it cost to study Urban and Regional Planning at University in America??? Over here, it's around $5,600 per semester, plus college, books ect. And you can get a 20% discount if you pay $500 at the beginning of each semester.

Graduate (Master's, PhD) - est avg total costs (tuition, housing, books, food, etc):
$38,000/year for private
$20,000/year for public

Btw, that 20% discount is a strange policy.

Because in Australia, we have HECS(Higher Education Contribution Scheme) i.e. An interest-free loan from the government that you pay back through your taxes after you start earning more than $30,000/year.

Basicly, for us we have three options: Full Payment(entire tuition costs), Part Payment($500/semester) or Full Deferall.

If you do the Full Payment or the Part Payment, you get a 20% discount on what you owe the government.

^ I see, so the government doesn't have to underwrite so much.
