I think the logical spot would be Athens.... We are ready, very little preperation involved, very little cost to us involved ;)....

Lets do it! :)

I think the olympic centre has big advantages as transportation (new airport, roads), accomodation, all aquatic venues ready.

Plus for specators a chance to see the archeological sites. Travel to Mykonos, Santorini who can really beat this???? :)

Athens firms as favourite for swimming championships

Athens is shaping as favourite to host the World Swimming Championships in July, after Montreal was stripped of the titles by the sports world governing body FINA.

Athens, Moscow and Berlin have put in bids to host the titles, although talks have resumed between FINA and Montreal after Canadian organisers said they now had the necessary financial backing.

Australia's head swimming coach Alan Thompson said the Olympic city would be favoured if Montreal remained on the outer.

"The one that was given all the discussion, even before these three cities were announced yesterday was Athens," he said.

"That's been the talk from everyone I've spoken to, I'm still hearing that there's discussions going on in the background with Montreal, in effect Montreal was six hours late with their money."

This is looking very nice. I don't think Russia will win it, it is between us and Berlin and we seem to obviously have the upper hand.

But I have the feeling Montreal will win it back in the end.... :( I hope not, but it;s a great opportunity for us.
