View Full Version : Too many Dubai threads!
Monkey January 21st, 2005, 06:06 PM I think there are too many Dubai threads in Projects & Updates.
I know Dubai is booming at the moment, but please, can't we at least tidy up that part of the forum? Maybe have a summary thread or something to keep them together a bit more. It seems unfair on the other cities/countries that want to showcase their own projects when they are swamped by dozens of new 400m+ tower threads from Dubai, the latest "Hyper-Mega Island project", and various Burj Dubai discussions, etc.
Does anyone agree with me?
Deol January 21st, 2005, 06:21 PM the thing is dubai is coming out with a huge project almost every day, its impossible to control it
Malt January 21st, 2005, 06:32 PM No one cares anymore though. were all desensitised to it.
a 600m tower could be announced but i personally would care more about a 350m tower in any other city.
Some order would be good. Give them 1 thread to post new developments in.
Fern January 21st, 2005, 06:35 PM Does anyone agree with me?
Absolutely!!
Monkey January 21st, 2005, 06:38 PM a 600m tower could be announced but i personally would care more about a 350m tower in any other city.
Deol January 21st, 2005, 06:47 PM why not? aren't u all skyscrapers fans? :weirdo:
Jo January 21st, 2005, 07:02 PM It would be good to see more of the uc skyscrapers than the plans and have those backed up with construction photos. Apart from thatI see no problem.. if they have such an enormous construction boom then it should show in the forum. Pakistan on the other hand...
Deol January 21st, 2005, 07:04 PM Pakistan on the other hand?
Jo January 21st, 2005, 07:11 PM nevermind.

cntower January 28th, 2005, 07:26 AM nevermind.
no no please...go on...you were saying why do those tanned idiots need all those forums right?
Maybe if you came and saw it...you'd maybe understand. Then again as soon as they see the name of the country they assume nothing is happening right?
Right!

No I don't infact...
drwho January 28th, 2005, 03:32 PM guys,cool it..
shouldnt everyone have the right to post projects from their country?
nukey January 28th, 2005, 04:29 PM It would be nice to tidy them up a bit. As great as it is that so much is going on in Dubai, Id realy like space to be available at the top of the projects and construction area for smaller projects from around the globe. It seems that everything gets pushed to the back by a continuous stream of Dubai super projects. Plus I think it would be easier to get a grip of what is going on In Dubai if all the info was held in a couple of threads, or in a sub-forum.
renell February 4th, 2005, 02:07 PM I thought the UAE forum was built for Dubai threads...................
SUNNI February 5th, 2005, 02:32 PM id hate to say this,, but i dont think half of these projects are gonna happen, they dont give any solid infomation, nor do they post much construction photos,, all they post are figures and news reports.. im not going against dubai, but i think they are posting too much with too little evidence.
its just my oppinion, so dont try to argue with me until u guys have solid info.

juiced February 5th, 2005, 03:46 PM If theres any project you would like to see construction pics of, let me know via PM and I'll see what I can do
i_am_hydrogen February 21st, 2005, 11:51 AM wjfox2002 - I agree w/you on this. I was thinking about how there were so many Dubai threads just the other day.
Camaway February 25th, 2005, 02:06 AM Totally agree. I have kind of lost interest in what should be renamed the "Dubai Projects and updates list".
I know Dubai is booming but it's just too much to get excited any longer. I don't even open the Dubai threads any longer unless I have a specific reason to do it.
I am also a bit annoyed that threads about other places get immediately pushed away by the latest Dubai project.
Nick in Atlanta February 25th, 2005, 05:40 AM By the way, I read in an extemely reliable source that Dubai was thinking of making a serious bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Maybe we should pay more attention to all the things going on in Dubai.
