New multiplex poised to be blockbuster hit

LEADING cinema exhibitor Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd’s has gone even bigger. Its latest multiplex is at Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur.

A rousing and colourful lion dance performance was held as GSC Chairman Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Ghazali Seth and Berjaya Group director Azlan Meah Hj Ahmed Meah cut the ribbons to the nine-screen, state-of-the-art cinema.

The RM22mil new multiplex marks GSC’s 17th in Malaysia and the first in downtown Kuala Lumpur.

“The multiplex also scores another first with the introduction of a 48-seat Premiere Class Hall,’’ said Mohd Ghazali.

“With this, there is now a total of 95 GSC screens in 17 locations nationwide.”

The Hall features wide-backed twin seats with generous leg-room for patrons’ comfort.

There is also an attached lounge to allow moviegoers to relax and enjoy refreshments before or after a movie.

“The Premiere Class feature was first introduced at GSC Gurney Plaza in Penang and the response was encouraging,” said Mohd Ghazali.

Azlan said the GSC Berjaya Times Square with 1,570 seats, was good for the shopping complex.

“The cinema offers a wider entertainment choice for our shoppers and enhances their shopping experience.’’

2) Cathay Cinema

3) Sg. Wang Cinema (inside Sg. Wang)

4) The President Cinema (inside Sg. Wang)

5) Odeon Cineplex - 2 screens (inside Sg. Wang)

6) ??? *forgot name already* Cinema (at the current De Vegas Club site - burned down when I was still a little kid)

Actually nothing is being built over the two giants in Sg. Wang - President & Sg Wang theatre. There is a pemborong of China products at the foyer of the cinema only.

I am not too sure of the Odeon cineplex area though but I think nothing is being done there either.

All closed because of no business......thanks to all the giant cineplexes by TGV and GSC :D

Next time I suggest you take Putra LRT to Kelana Jaya and then take the feeder bus. It goes straight to the entrance of Sunway Pyramid ;)
