Turkey, a new stage for MotoGP

News, 02/02/07

http://images.motogp.com/multimedia2/330/330440_91079.jpg

In 2005, Turkey will host the MotoGP World Championship for the first time, on the new Istanbul track. The event will be held from the 21st to the 23rd of October, as the 16th of the 17 rounds of the serie.

The track is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, close to the newly constructed Sabiha Gokcen Istanbul Airport, and was designed by Herman Tilke the architect behind a number of racetracks like Sepang and Shangai.

The total area allocated for the project is 2,215,000 m2. The racing circuit which runs counter-clockwise is 5,333 m long with an average width of 14 - 21.5 m, excluding runoff areas. The circuit is composed of 13 curves, of which 6 are right turns and 7 left turns. The sharpest turn will have a radius of 15m. The start and finish section is 655.5m in length. The circuit runs over 4 level sections with rising and descending grades.

The main parking areas, with the total parking capacity of 20,000 are located along the outer peripheral ring road which is 5,482m in length and will facilitate the movement of traffic on the outer limits of the project area.

In addition, the project consists of 2.3 km of inner service roads and emergency lanes. There will be 4 under-passes and 3 pedestrian over passes linking the natural ground stands and temporary moveable stands with the parking areas. The central area is reserved for the construction of go-kart racing track.

The main grandstand is under construction over an area of 12,700m2 and shall have the seating capacity of 30,000 spectators. In addition, the temporary stands and natural ground stands will provide a total capacity of over 155,000 spectators. The paddock buildings are two level structures.

The ground floor sections are for the MotoGP teams and the upper floors will serve as hospitality areas with additional viewing capacity of 5,000 seats. There are two VIP towers being constructed at the two ends of paddock buildings, each consisting of 7 floors to provide a floor space of 7,392 m2

Hadise budur :)

Urban Girl
June 6th, 2005, 09:12 PM
çevresine planlanan o projeler hayata geçirilmediği sürece bu pist dünyadaki en kötü f1 pistlerinden biri olur!!! zaten ulaşım berbat, yolun çevresi gecekondularla dolu, pistin etrafında hiçbir medeniyet belirtisi yok.... yani olimpiyat stadı işine döner bu, yapcaklarsa adam gibi herşeyi tam anlamıyla yapsınlar ama böyle yarım yamalak yapılacaksa hiç yapılmasın bence:bash: örnek olimpiyat stadı ve şamp.ligi finali tecrübesi;)

Istanbullu
June 6th, 2005, 11:42 PM
Onlar da yapılacak herhalde. Bi sabredin çita mı kovalıyor. :D Pistin etrafından gecekondu semtleri falan gözükmüyor-ama yakın o bölgeye, gitmediniz herhalde hiç o taraflara. Ayrıca bu pistler genelde medeniyetten uzak bölgelere yapılır(Monaco hariç :D), yani Fransa'daki pist tarlaların ortasındadır abartısız. :D

Zaten burası, acayip yatırım çekicek bundan sonra... Arkadaşlar, dünyanın parasının döndüğü bir yere, yerli sermaye zaten yırımını arttıracaktır. Her yıl gelişecek burası...

Wow, there are so many events being hosted at this track!
This is the wonderful thing about having a F1 track - so many event organisers from around the world flood to the cicuit in order to use it! Races such as DTM, F1, FIA-GT Championship and of course Moto GP are all world renound events.
Investing in a race track (esp. for F1 use) is an "invesment into the future", not just for a 3 day event ;)

Go Istanbul!

I'm scared that this event might turn out to be similar to the CL final....people will complain about the lack of facilities! I mean, imagine you arrive early at the track. What are you going to do there?! There are no other buildings, no shopiing areas, no restaurants...nothing.

I hope some tent-style things will be built up before-hand to that people have somewhere to go...

Also, how about road to and from the track? Are they complete? Do taxi drivers know where the heck this place is?!

I hope the only answer to these questions is yes.

8) Aspirin
9) Güneş Gözlüğü ( Olmayanı yarışa almıyorlar)
10) Ağzı fermuarlı çanta ( Yarış günü 100.000 kişiye yakın bir kalabalık olacağından özellikle Bayanlar çanta ve benzeri şeylere olduğunca dikkat etsinler!!!)
11) FM bantlı Radyo

Şimdilik aklımıza gelenler bunlar eh artık gerisi size kalmış şimdiden hepinize iyi seyirler ve iyi hafta sonları.

What they simply say about the circuit is: Fantastic, Unique and Challenging!..

A great race is waiting us at this sunday! :)

Dear Turks,

Greeting from Bahrain, I wish you a very good luck on your country's 1st GP Race.

I'm looking forward to watch qualifying sessions today.

Your Race circuit looks very nice and reflects Turkish architecture strongly just like our F1 circuit, you can look at it in this thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=145357

The track is indeed a tough one for the pilots. Some pilots had porblems today at keeping their cars on the track like Schumacher, Sato...

I think it will be a very interesting race! :)

the track is fantastic, im very glad. after this year, with whole complex(like shopping centres, pools, parks... around it) it will be one of the best in the world. so next year it will be fantastic(x10) :D very few countries can build this kind of complex in less than one year, congratulations for Turkey.

The circuit will look much better next year with grass, as construction works finished at the nick of time (completed in 18 months).

The race track itself is awesome, and enables many position-switches (the track is wide, with ups and downs, curves and lengths, allowing the drivers to pass eachother in many places)

Now I'm waiting for the GT Championship (with supercars like Maserati MC 12)

European Touring Car Championship and Motorcycle Grand Prix races will also take place.

Frenipatlak
August 26th, 2005, 11:39 AM
Yunanistan'in bu isten kar etmesi matematiksel olarak imkansiz:

Oyunlar: 11.6 milyar dolar
Tesisler: 25.4 milyar dolar
Toplam: 37 milyar dolar

Olimpiyatlari izlemeye gelen turistlerin biraktiklari gelir bunun 1/10'u bile degil.

Yani maksimum 8 milyar dolar harcamayi planliyorlardi.

Okul/yol/tesis insaatlari durdurulur; JSF, Milgem, TF-2000, Tank 2000, ATAK, vb. tüm önemli askeri projeler iptal edilir.

http://www.turizmdebusabah.com/devam_popup.asp?id=21527

deniz taşımacılığına gelirsek, şu an türkiye'nin dış ticaret hacmi 200 milyar $, önümüzdeki 10 senede 500-700 milyar $'a çıkacak. bölge ülkelerinin ekonomilerinin tamamı******* türkiye'ye bağımlı olacak. yunan armatörlerin en büyük işleri türk ihraç ve ithal mallarını taşımak olacak. yani yunanistan diğer ülkelerden farklı olarak sadece dış ticarette değil en önemli iki sektörü olan turizmde ve deniz taşımacılığında bize göbekten bağlı olacak.

http://www.hurriyetim.com.tr/haber/0,,sid~3@nvid~594427,00.asp

http://www.hurriyetim.com.tr/haber/0,,sid~1@w~3@nvid~606185,00.asp

Ahead of the inaugural Turkish Grand Prix, to be held later this year, MotoGP has secured a new television deal with a major terrestrial network in Turkey.

The new agreement, with NTV, means that the national free-to-air network will broadcast the premier MotoGP class live at every event, with highlights of the 125cc and 250cc races also shown.

The contract between NTV and Dorna Sports, the rights-holders to the MotoGP series, will last for two and a half years - until the end of the 2007 season - and follows the inclusion of Turkey in the MotoGP calendar for the first time.

The inaugural Turkish Grand Prix will take place at the brand new circuit of Istanbul (lower pic) on October 23rd - when all three classes will be broadcast live by NTV.

With this new addition, the TV distribution list for MotoGP's live broadcasts (or same day delayed on the different time zones) includes no less than 48 TV networks, covering more than 200 countries in all five continents.

The average TV audience for each race is over 300 million viewers worldwide

NOT:Lütfen bana göstermek için bile olsa diğer pistlerin fotoğaflarını buraya postalamayın.

Bence pistimiz formula 1'i daha popüler yapacak.
