Dubai-Lover January 23rd, 2005, 01:58 PM great tower!
will the 270m+ version look exactly like the 200m version you've posted, so i mean it will just be more massive and taller without any changes in the design?
www.sercan.de January 23rd, 2005, 02:12 PM yes, the concept will be the same..maybe ther will be only 2 towers/sails instead of 3....

fahed January 23rd, 2005, 07:27 PM Very nice tower ^_^
Are those 1st and 2ns projects going to be built ?
G_DOG January 23rd, 2005, 07:37 PM istanbul is starting to look like a chinese city with all the new towers
www.sercan.de January 23rd, 2005, 07:39 PM no...these were the 1st and 2nd proposal/projects...but the customer change it it everytime (i think he want to built a very high one)..therefore the Diamond of Istanbul will be built now...
fahed January 23rd, 2005, 10:49 PM Well then I like the first proposal too ^_^
The second looks strange (I dunno if it would appear cool in real)
Last one is sure the best. The base is ten times better than the one in the first proposal.
th0m January 23rd, 2005, 10:51 PM Wow, awesome stuff. That last tower looks amazing! Will that one get built too? If so, go Turkey! (and if not, still go Turkey, but not as much :D)
thedog January 23rd, 2005, 11:28 PM Wow....very nice buildings good job!
www.sercan.de January 24th, 2005, 12:05 AM only this one will be built
http://www.arkitera.com/forum/attachment.php?postid=13459
Therefore the name of the project change from Maslak Teras to Diamond of Istanbul....(the others are the old projects/proposals)
baqthier January 24th, 2005, 12:09 AM It has The Menara Telekom(in KL) impression on it! Nice :)
SA BOY January 24th, 2005, 07:12 AM It looks like Dubais proposed Lattic tower with the 3 wings
www.sercan.de January 24th, 2005, 06:24 PM can you show us a pic?

www.sercan.de January 24th, 2005, 06:46 PM the hole is 28m deep
RafflesCity January 24th, 2005, 06:47 PM It does look very iconic, kinda like a project in Bahrain

Urban Dave February 7th, 2005, 11:58 PM The hole is huge man!!!!
decepticon February 8th, 2005, 04:51 PM if they will only build 2 towers instead off 3, the tower will have the same shape of that U/C tower (300m+) in moskow..
www.sercan.de February 9th, 2005, 01:28 PM yes decepticon, you are right.
I hope they will built 3.
But the Complex Federation will be much taller :(
RafflesCity February 9th, 2005, 05:26 PM Have they started construction on the taller tower???
www.sercan.de February 9th, 2005, 07:03 PM i think not, because they are still working on the design...tehy want to make it to the 300m....and nowadays there is a snowstorm in Istanbul snowed up Istanbul (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=177443)

cello1974 February 26th, 2005, 01:33 AM http://img172.exs.cx/img172/2888/serkanamaslakfuture2pe.jpg
sorry guys, i am not good in those thing..have done it with MS Paint :(
Well, I think it is well done! Good, that the skyline isn't dense. If it was, it would have been definitely the wrong place for the tower.
www.sercan.de February 26th, 2005, 02:22 PM on the one hand i hope they will reach the 300m, but on the other ahnd...the 2nd tallest after DoI in the Maslak Cluster will be the Sun Plaza (145m) ....
Imperfect Ending February 27th, 2005, 02:48 AM great location
bobdebouwer February 27th, 2005, 01:56 PM Astonishing design, I hope they start construction very soon, it's an absolute beauty!
Nightsky February 27th, 2005, 02:02 PM The rendering is good, it shows how The Diamond will totally be dominating the skyline.

il fenomeno March 29th, 2005, 01:18 AM err...looking at the pictures....shouldnt there be steel instead of wood?
www.sercan.de March 29th, 2005, 11:44 AM all i know is that they first will start with concrete...then with steel...but good question..i will ask him
ch1le March 29th, 2005, 11:47 AM guys the wood is used to support the concrete poured on it to make floors, thats the system used everywhere
www.sercan.de March 29th, 2005, 11:52 AM :D

http://wowturkey.com/tr43/alperdemirkaya_diamond_alperdem_07_03042005.jpg
www.sercan.de April 8th, 2005, 12:22 PM The construction that is currently taking place is of the basement floors and is not directly related to the dimensions of the steel tower above. In other words, irrespective of whether there will be 62 above-ground steel-structured floors or only 30, the project will still have 8 basement floors - 5 garage, 1 technical and 2 shopping space floors. And they will need to be built anyway. By proceeding with the construction now, time is gained inasmuch as when the design of the above-ground steel floors is comleted, their construction can start immediately, without having to wait for the completion of the basement floors and causing a lull in the overall construction process of the project. In the same vein, the first 4 above-ground floors (shopping mall) are also the concrete block which can be build irrespective of the height of the steel structure which will be added to it later. Even if the design of the steel-structured floors will be completed by mid-July, the construction of the basement floors may still be continuing at that time, making use of the time available before the completion of the steel tower design.
Bahraini Spirit April 8th, 2005, 01:20 PM How many basement floors does this tower have, cause the hole is very deep for a 270 m tower?
www.sercan.de April 8th, 2005, 01:26 PM 8 basement floors - 5 garage, 1 technical and 2 shopping space floors
RafflesCity April 8th, 2005, 05:21 PM well that hole certainly looks huge!
another renditions of the base design?
www.sercan.de April 8th, 2005, 05:26 PM actually they are just building "only" the base of the tower...
unfortunately the Tower design isn't finished yet
Bahraini Spirit April 9th, 2005, 02:22 PM 8 basement floors - 5 garage, 1 technical and 2 shopping space floors
Thanks, well that explains it. Keep us updated.
www.sercan.de April 9th, 2005, 02:27 PM bad newz :(....
the tower will be blue :(
Bahraini Spirit April 9th, 2005, 02:42 PM Ouch, from that nice green to blue, I think this will kinda ruin it, definately take some of its glory away.
Osmanli April 9th, 2005, 07:37 PM bad newz :(....
the tower will be blue :(
Blue isn't that bad, the structure will be high, so if it's blue, it will be a better mix between sky and the bluiding.
But green would be more original that's true... as longer as it isn't pink or red, it's fine :D
Genç April 9th, 2005, 08:31 PM Say it's not true?! Blue!!! Nooooo! :bash: Another blue tower will make it too "common." :ohno:
I would have prefered yellow :|

cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 01:45 AM Hum. I searched all the sites of the construction and engeneering companies mentioned at emporis. Found nothing. The only thing you find is pics from another forum... And there is too much strange things going on at the Bosphorus. Yapi Merkezi site says that Sisli Plaza will have 38 storeys, not 48, so the 200m must be wrong also! Akbank has 31, not 39, Tekstilkent has 33, not 37, Sun Plaza I found with 33 storeys, not with 38, Is Bankasi has 41 and two times 30 storeys, not 52 and two times 39 storeys. This is really disappointing. Like the Three Empires Tower that Bouygues Construction doesn't even know1 I hope this one is not such an inflated or even imaginary tower also!!!
falconi May 17th, 2005, 01:55 AM :D
this is istanbul :D
everthing is possible :D
DOI can be 300 or 200 or 270 or 350 or 50m ! :D
wait and see!
the last word has the owner of the building ;)
www.sercan.de May 17th, 2005, 02:29 AM the eng. site of Sisli Plaza is wrong :D
but it was toped out i think..therefore 48
http://www.yapi-merkezi.com/turkce/mm2_sm6_proje_sisliplaza.htm
according to the off. site of Sun Plaza it has 37 floors
http://www.sunplaza.com.tr/test/alt/Concept/alt.htm
the rest i don't know
but the DoI is correct...we have somebody who is working on this project ;)
cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 10:37 PM Rubbish! I don't think they are wrong, I think the editor from emporis is inflating the numbers. Perhaps he has a problem with Is Bakasi Tower just having 41 storeys and 143 metres of height. I think I will send the e-mails of the coinstruction firms plus the phone number of Istanbul tourist board to talk to Gökhan who said that Isbank Tower is the tallest and will remain it, since by now there are no taller buildings approved, to emporis chief editor!!!! Many things I have seen that are wrong. You can often even count it on the photos. This is really annoying and ridiculous. I was happy to see something rising outside the skyscrapercapitals, but now I know it is all hot air and rubbish! Really disappointing!!! I would like to see the link to the construction firm's site, showing a render and some info about the bnuilding DOI, if not this is just a fantasy building. The firms listed at emporis told me they didn't know anything about DOI!!!
3tmk May 17th, 2005, 11:03 PM Well I have to say, I always like the project, and hope it gets taller!
And great to see they started the foundation works now, but I really want to see it grow, what's taking so long deciding the final height? Problems with the city urban zone plan, or the developers decided to make it taller so they submit a new application for a building permit... :?
cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 11:15 PM And great to see they started the foundation works now, but I really want to see it grow, what's taking so long deciding the final height? ... :?
If it is the foundation of DOI, no one knows, since there is no placard anywhere on the photos... Wanna see it grow? I do also, but I think we're gonna be disappointed!!! :bash:
www.sercan.de May 17th, 2005, 11:19 PM actualy even in the newspapers the said Is Bank is 181m high.
i have the pic of the DoI maquette, but is the 233m version.
according to the guy who works at that project it will have around 61 floors !?!
cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 11:25 PM actualy even in the newspapers the said Is Bank is 181m high.
i have the pic of the DoI maquette, but is the 233m version.
according to the guy who works at that project it will have around 61 floors !?!
Actually, that sound like saying "I don't know of anything, but I believe that what some biased editors of Emporis say must be right"
Is Bankasi, NOT 181m (http://www.turnerconstruction.com/international/content.asp?d=3928&p=2372) This seems to me the most reliable source, since the tourist board (what a coincidence) said the same thing!!!
cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 11:40 PM Don't tell me, this site is wrong! (http://www.yapi-merkezi.com/mm2_sm6_proje_sisliplaza.htm) :bash:
cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 11:41 PM ^^ It isn't wrong, since they sent me an e-mail, saying 38 storeys over ground. I think I will send it to emporis also!
www.sercan.de May 17th, 2005, 11:43 PM as is said, even in the turkish media they said 195m (with the mast)...i didn't say i believe the editor of emporis
but there is a point i didn't understand, some guya took picture from the highest level and they said it was the 43rd floor????
Swanke Hayden Connell Architects
http://www.shca.com/portfolio/default.asp?sctId=222&projType=Architecture
?????????????????????????????????????
falconi May 17th, 2005, 11:47 PM how can the is bank only 41 floors when i count 44 and i cant see all floors on my pic?
all sources are false!?
www.sercan.de May 17th, 2005, 11:47 PM but the turkish site says "42 storey 147 apartment... residential block"
http://www.yapi-merkezi.com/turkce/mm2_sm6_proje_sisliplaza.htm
????????????
3tmk May 17th, 2005, 11:50 PM That's really messed up!
btw, who's the editor over at emporis? Is he on SSC or not?
cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 11:50 PM but the turkish site says "42 storey 147 apartment... residential block"
http://www.yapi-merkezi.com/turkce/mm2_sm6_proje_sisliplaza.htm
????????????
Perhaps counting the floors under ground? But it says 38 storeys, and that is what makes sense, looking at the render!
www.sercan.de May 17th, 2005, 11:52 PM cello1974 i don'it know exactly the floor count but at my pics it has 38 storeys without the base
cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 11:53 PM how can the is bank only 41 floors when i count 44 and i cant see all floors on my pic?
all sources are false!?
It has 41, since the ground floor and the top do not count. Here is a good pic to count the storeys of them all:
http://dunyaturk.com/tr34/jedi_birol_iskulesi2.jpg
www.sercan.de May 17th, 2005, 11:54 PM yes, as i said it in turkey they also count the floors under ground
but we have asked it for the DoI and they said 61 floors over ground
cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 11:56 PM cello1974 i don'it know exactly the floor count but at my pics it has 38 storeys without the base
We will see it, when it is finished. Then you'll take a huge photo showing the base and everything of the tower!  :wink2:
cello1974 May 17th, 2005, 11:58 PM yes, as i said it in turkey they also count the floors under ground
but we have asked it for the DoI and they said 61 floors over ground
Perhaps 6 of them under ground? Dunno. Maybe, they want to use the ground somewhat better than in São Paulo, where they prefer to waste ground for 48,000 'high'rises instead of 15,000 scrapers... :bash: :)
falconi May 17th, 2005, 11:58 PM sisli plaza, i count 44, but also i cant see all floors on my pic!
www.sercan.de May 17th, 2005, 11:58 PM i think the Isbank has with ground floor and the top 41 floors :)

jonovision January 13th, 2006, 01:21 AM I'm really anxious to see this one rise. It's going to be amazing.
warnings January 13th, 2006, 09:59 AM Yeah me too, its great design just a bit too thin. BTW when completed will this be turkeys tallest building.
Mosaic January 13th, 2006, 10:30 AM I can't wait to see it done.
www.sercan.de January 13th, 2006, 12:45 PM yes it will be
according to a elevator company it will be 238m high
but i don't know if they also count the spire
or only the highest floor
because the spire will be around 20m high
238m+20m = 258m
and 258m is the last number we get
www.sercan.de January 13th, 2006, 12:48 PM The client & promoter : Hema Endustri AS – Istanbul
Project Manager : Hattat Insaat AS – Istanbul
Architects : Dome Architects – Istanbul
Vertical Transportation Consultants : Arup VT – London
The Diamond of Istanbul is a very ultra modern design multi use tower designed by the inventive Dome architects of Istanbul, they and their clients didn’t want an “International Mediocre Building” which could be in any major city in the world but a modern tower giving a design statement to the skyline of this vibrant city of Istanbul and this is what they have achieved.
The local professional team approached Arup VT because of their International reputation and experience but also their approach to looking over the horizon in terms of design development and expertise where 2nd best is not acceptable and a flexible approach is demanded and the architectural design not only of the lifts but also the building is paramount to its overall success.
The D OF I comprises of a striking 238 meter tower with a panoramic restaurant at the very top of the and below it is 48 levels of letable floors, the D of I also comprises of 5 levels of retail areas and 5 levels of underground car parking. Therefore the total height of the building from the lowest car parking floor to the top is 260 meters which makes it a very tall building as well as a dynamic looking building.
The brief for the VT Systems were that they had to comply with the very latest requirements of EN81, Turkish lift standards and also International Passenger performance criteria in terms of waiting and journey times and ride comfort.
The D o I by its unique design is totally flexible to possible future use as a commercial building, or a luxury hotel, or luxury apartments or possible a mixture of all three, plus the retail and car parking zones.
After professional team meetings discussing the various possible scenarios, the VT system concept adopted, allowed for the maximisation of building core space and the trademark Arup VT design of the lift systems to incorporate “ flexible functionality”, which has produced complex VT systems which are just right for this very exiting building therefore the building is not over or under elevated based upon today’s international standards and criteria.
Although the D of I Tower lifts are relatively fast at 6.0m/sec, all lift within the complex building have vital role to play and are in the correct location, have the ideal loading and speed characteristics. There are also firefighting lifts in locations agreed with the project fire engineers to make the job of the fire-fighters safer and assist with evacuation.
The project team were very conscious of the needs of those users with a disability and all passenger carrying lifts have all the features to enable the user to have barrier free access to every occupied area within the building.
Because of the 5 retail levels between the main lobby and 1st commercial floor the D OF I has sets of escalators providing service to and from these levels together with back up conventional lifts for users who don’t like the experience of travelling on an escalator or with buggies or possibly have a disability.
At he back of the retail units there are large cargo lifts serving from the loading bay to all the retail levels to enable the units to be serviced out of sight of the shoppers as it was recognised that if the shopping units couldn’t get their goods on display they couldn’t sell them.
Working with such a forward looking and adventurous project team we also had to consider and design into the protect, because of its very flexible design concept items such as environmental awareness, passenger evacuation in the event of an Imminent Catastrophic Event commonly referred to as ICE scenario, also state of the art passenger access and security systems to the private levels within the D of I, Acoustic and sound isolation systems to prevent noise and vibration from the lift shafts penetrating area which may be rooms designated as sleeping locations, and final most important for Istanbul seismic protection for the lifts and escalators.
The D of I will be for the foreseeable future a bench mark for inventive architectural design, functional flexibility not on in Istanbul but in our opinion worldwide and this is solely due to an architect, client and promoter who won’t accept 2nd best and push the design team to its creative limits and also most importantly are not afraid to bring into the project International expertise not only for the VT systems but other areas within this complex and exiting building that will be gracing the Istanbul Skyline in the very near future.

toprak January 26th, 2006, 11:49 PM yea we need update but turkey gradually update
www.sercan.de January 27th, 2006, 02:02 AM i think it is better to hope
that it will be over 200m
according to the lift company it will be 236m
But i don't know if they also count the spire (~25m) or only to the top floor
reignman January 27th, 2006, 02:21 AM Sercan, what a pessimist person you are! :)
DOI will be (minimum)230m, and DTI will be (min.) 300m.
Don't worry ;)
www.sercan.de January 27th, 2006, 02:27 AM :D
you know
its Turkey :(
there are a lot of problems if you want to built a highrise
after that article of the lift company and our friend
i believe to 90%, that Diamond Of Istanbul wil be 257m
DTI is different
it is still in the planing phase
and there are so many point
militaray base
Architecture chamber
too thin and the floor area limit of 148,000m²
reignman January 27th, 2006, 02:43 AM Why the hell you are worrying bout that number? I am sure project owners and architects know limits too :)
Don't worry Sercan as I said before ;)
Bitxofo January 27th, 2006, 04:33 AM Nice diamond...
:wink2:
www.sercan.de January 27th, 2006, 03:21 PM Why the hell you are worrying bout that number? I am sure project owners and architects know limits too :)
Don't worry Sercan as I said before ;)
which number? :D
DTI?
then let speak abut it in this topic (o topicate canlasnsin :D )
i don't believe that they will change the "emsal 3" to "emsal +4"
so, 148.000m² is maximum

They are damn slow :bash:
SkyLerm February 11th, 2006, 08:29 PM Good project :okay:
reignman February 11th, 2006, 10:30 PM Is Bankasi, NOT 181m[/URL] This seems to me the most reliable source, since the tourist board (what a coincidence) said the same thing!!!
Please look at that photo. I pointed out the roof of IsBank building with red arrow.
http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/3274/maslakx3tf.jpg
And now look at that:
http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/2994/untitled15ny.jpg
In the first photo, as you can see Isbank tower's height looks same with Sun Plaza's height. (145m) But there is a long distance (2.9Km) between them. In spite of distance, their heights look same.
Also there is another proof; former highest building: Mertim Tower (Mersin/172M)
http://img451.imageshack.us/img451/1472/1260832hw.jpg
Now you can say, Yeah It's 181m, I think. ;)
YunuS February 20th, 2006, 01:22 PM Istanbul makes a nice skyline!
Mosaic February 20th, 2006, 01:29 PM sexy tower is now rising!!
DrasQue February 20th, 2006, 04:20 PM I read somethn about that tower.It will be definitely over 270 m + ;)

:old:
Genç March 19th, 2006, 08:28 PM Well, the tower foundations don't seem to be making that much progress at this stage. I'd say 2 or 3 of the underground floors are complete, work on the next floor has begun.

Cr. Alper Demirkaya @ WOWTurkey, for this pic.
Muse March 19th, 2006, 10:28 PM After the foundations & base are built, often the tower shoots up.
Can only see a few workers though. Maybe it was a holiday shift or overtime shift :?
Thanks for posting Genç :)
Genç March 19th, 2006, 11:31 PM Can only see a few workers though. Maybe it was a holiday shift or overtime shift :?
Yeah, that's the same observation I made. I'm not sure of the reason behind this...it could be as you say, a holiday break, or perhaps construction has slowed down/stopped because something needs to be finalised?
I'm not sure, hopefully someone can shed some light onto the situation.
www.sercan.de March 19th, 2006, 11:50 PM i think because the pics was taken today (sunday)!!??
