Quiet honestly. Don't interpret this as sarcasm but the "for Dummy" series is really good. They really do their homework. Than again, it also depends where you are buying. If it is indeed the UK, I'm clueless.

Great list there Jan, I'll check some of those out.
How is "Divided We Stand: A Biography of New York City's World Trade Center?" I've always been tempted to read it but never took the time to do so.

It's quite a good read. First of all it was written before the collapse, so it wasn't publiced to make a quick buck. The books is a critical focus on the (dirty) polictics of developing the towers, so nothing much has changed hasn't it. ;) In that it's better then Angus Gillespie's quickly reprinted after 9/11 book 'Twin Towers' (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0451206843) who's almost desperately trying to find some arguments to explain why he's liking the towers. The author Eric Darton has a home page about the World Trade Center at http://www.ericdarton.net. I haven't read Leonard Ruchelman's 'World Trade Center (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0815621809): Politics and Policies of Skyscraper Development' yet, but judging by the subtitle I can pretty much guess what it is about. Amazon's reader comments are quite good way to get yourself an idea of what a book is about. That book was written in 1977 and has many graphs in it which probably gives it a different perspective, plus it smells delicious (odd habit of mine ;) )
